AFFORDABLE MAKEUP WEEK: DRUGSTORE VS DRUGSTORE FOUNDATION

So today i am back with the second installment of "affordable makeup week" and for today's post it is all about going "head to head" in a drugstore vs drugstore foundation edition. I decided to go ahead and try two drugstore foundations which i have never tried before and put them to the test...

The two drugstore foundations which i chose to go "head to head" are:

Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation - £8.99
Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation - £8.99
(I decided to get both foundations in the same shade, so i could put them both to the test when it came to colour matching. The shade i chose was ivory.)

So lets kick things off with the Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation, i am going to be honest i was so disappointed with this foundation as i am such a fan of their other foundations. The formula is slightly on the thick side but once it was blended out it seemed to look fine until i began to apply my other products on my face, even after setting the foundation with powder both my bronzer and blush it clung to the product and wouldn't blend as well as any other foundation would. The foundation also transferred off so easily. Just keep in mind this is only my experience/opinion of the foundation as it might work for other people, not every product works for everyone in the same way. If i was giving this product a rating out of five i would only give it a two.

Next up is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation, i have never tried this foundation even though it has been out for the longest time but i have tried the concealer and i did like that. Overall i really liked this foundation especially the finish of it, as i am a fan of a more "dewy" foundation over a matte foundation i just feel that they sit on my skin better. The shade matched me pretty well at the moment but maybe when i am slightly more pale i would need a shade lighter. This foundation also blended out so easily even though it still is quite a thick formula compared to what i usually like/go for. If i was going to give this product a rating out of five i would give it a four.

I would love to know if anyone has tried either one or both of these foundations and how they worked out for you, whether you loved them or hated them?
