£20 MAKEUP CHALLENGE

Hello Everyone! So last week i posted on my twitter that i had made an order online at Superdrug to do the £20 makeup challenge for you all. I'm not going to lie to you i was probably working on the order for well over an hour, it was so difficult to obviously judge what was going to be ok and for it to come to £20 or under for everything i needed. The pricing of the products were what they retailed for at the time the order was placed...

So these are the products that i selected to create a look with and the total cost for this look came to £18.46, which was £1.54 under the budgeted £20.

So this is the look i created with all of these products, i just decided to keep the look super simple because of the products i was working with. Out of the selected products there were some i liked, some that i was on the fence about and some that really didn't work for me.

PRODUCTS I LIKED:

MUA EYEBROW PENCIL IN THE SHADE BRUNETTE - £1
I was really shocked once i applied this to my brows, i had already set myself up to not like it as i thought it looked a little too warm toned for my brows but it wasn't. The formula is super soft and easy to work with but not too soft that you can't be precise.

COLLECTION EYES UNCOVERED NUDE BRONZE PALETTE - £3.99
Even though these eyeshadows aren't the most pigmented eyeshadows i have ever used, they still have a decent amount of pigment to them and some really pretty shades. I used the shade Ochre all over the lids, then the shade Ivory on the inner corners, brow bone and also as a highlight because i didn't have enough left in my budget for one.

COLLECTION INTENSE COLOUR PENCIL IN THE SHADE BLACK MAGIC - £1.99
Another product in the liked category by Collection and this time the kohl eyeliner pencil, i really liked how smooth it went on even though it wasn't super black it still looked nice and for £1.99 you can't really complain.

MISS SPORTY FABULOUS LASH EXTRA BLACK MASCARA - £1.99
I really didn't expect this mascara to actually be any good but i actually really liked it, you do have to spend a little more time building it up but to say how many coats i applied it didn't go clumpy at all. I still don't think it is up to Maybelline or L'Oreal standard at the drugstore but it is still a pretty good mascara for under £2.

MAKEUP REVOLUTION BLUSH IN THE SHADE LOVE - £1
It was safe to say that i already knew i was going to like this blush, as i already own quite a selection of Makeup Revolution blushes and i love how affordable they are yet are super pigmented.

PRODUCTS I WAS ON THE FENCE ABOUT:

MAKEUP REVOLUTION PRESSED TRANSLUCENT POWDER - £2
I was not sure what i made of this powder, i really want to try it when i have a base on that i actually like and that works for me personally. I will get onto the reason for that on the next section and then you will know why.

MISS SPORTY INSTA GLOW BRONZER - FREE w/purchase (usually £2.99)
I am stuck in the middle with this bronzer as i really liked it on the eyes, as i used it as well as the collection palette but i hated it as a bronzer. This shade really just didn't work for me that way, it just looked super orange and muddy.

MUA INTENSE COLOUR LIP LINER IN THE SHADE DESERT SAND - £1
I really like the colour of this lip liner and it is decently pigmented but i just found it was super drying on the lips. Yet again though i feel as if you can't really complain at that for only £1, i just wish it was a little more hydrating on the lips. Saying that the primark lip liners are only £1 and they aren't drying in the slightest.

MAKEUP REVOLUTION LIP GLOSS IN THE SHADE NUDE SHIMMER - £1
Firstly when i first opened this lip gloss i wanted to eat it, it just smelt so yummy like sweets or something. Second of all i really like the colour of it, it is that perfect lip gloss for adding a bit of shine to any lip colour. The only thing that makes me sit on the fence with it is the applicator, it feels super stiff and doesn't pick up much product, but i think that is another case of what can you expect for only £1.

PRODUCTS I DISLIKED:

MISS SPORTY INSTA GLOW FOUNDATION IN THE SHADE MEDIUM - £3.49
Things didn't start off well at all, i really didn't like this foundation at all, it really didn't work for me. The coverage was average but what i really didn't like is that anything i applied on top clung to the base, rather than blending easily and also it transferred so easy leaving you with patchy looking makeup.

MAKEUP REVOLUTION CONCELAER STICK IN THE SHADE FAIR - £1
Finally to top of the base not being on point at all, as i really didn't like how drying this concealer was and that also creased so quickly. I think this was my fault for choosing a stick concealer rather than a liquid, maybe i should of just spend my left over money on a different one. This is such a shame as it is probably the only Makeup Revolution product i have tried and not liked.
