HOW TO SAVE MONEY WHEN BUYING MAKEUP

Hello Everyone! Ever since i have been buying makeup i have always stuck by one rule. That rule being if i am going to buy a certain product/products, i am going to make sure i get the best deal i can find and also save money if possible along the way. That being said for today's post i thought i would share with you some of my tips on how to save money when shopping for makeup, as well as a few other money saving tips...

1. SHOPPING FOR THE BEST DEAL ONLINE

When it comes to either placing an order online especially if it is a drugstore purchase, i always check what stores have what offers on a certain brand. This meaning either 3for2 offer or even a buy one get one half price offer, as if you are wanting one or more items from this brand you are either getting another item for free or one for half off (this can also apply for shopping in-store). Any other product you are looking to buy simply type the product name into google and search for the best price, also making sure you calculate shipping costs into the equation.

2. CHOOSING A SPECIFIC SHADE ONLINE

There is nothing worse than ordering something online and then when it arrives, it is in fact a completely different shade all together. A huge tip to stop this mistake happening for lip products/eye products is to compare swatches on google images, with skin tones similar to yours as online store swatches can be inaccurate. Another huge tip especially when ordering foundation/concealer is to use the site findation, where you simply type in one of your current foundation shades and it will find all the matches for you in a different foundation. 

3. REGISTERING FOR A POINTS/SAVING CARD

If one of the major stores you purchase your makeup from has a store points card, register for one as they are typically free and you can get points that turn into money, exclusive offers and free delivery when making an online purchase. If you are from the UK both Boots and Superdrug have points cards, you can earn 4 points per £1 you spend at Boots and 1 point per £1 you spend at Superdrug. Another great card to register to is a Debenhams Beauty Card, if you buy a lot of higher end makeup this is a must have. They have exclusive offers such as getting £10 worth of points when buying two products, saving 10% off certain brands/product type and also free online delivery or even free next day collection to store.

4. SUBSCRIBING TO A BRANDS NEWSLETTER

By subscribing to a brands newsletter more often than none, you can qualify for a money saving code from your first purchase, free delivery, new launches, sale alerts and also exclusive offer events. You can also unsubscribe to the newsletter and subscribe again at a later date and repeat the first purchase code if available. I also know that Feel Unique has a system where you select your favourite brand and you will get 10% that brand when you purchase an item/items from it, which you can change every six months or so i believe.

5. COUPONS & VOUCHER CODES
If you are from the UK and have a Boots Advantage Card you will also receive in-app coupons, as well as ones via post to save money of certain items. I believe this particular thing will be matched to the types of products you have purchased in the past. Always search online for voucher codes that you can place in the discount box at the checkout, there is a ton of different sites that various amount of codes are posted on. This doesn't always have to apply to makeup you can get money saving codes for anything from furniture to food too.

6. QUICK FIRE MONEY SAVING TIPS
- If samples are available, always try before you buy to save wasting money.
- Use scissors to cut open bottles/tubes to get the remaining product out, to save on waste.
- Use baby shampoo to clean your brushes, this saves spending more on brush cleanser.
- DIY multi-purpose scrubs, simply use brown sugar and honey mixed together.
- Check your favourite youtuber/bloggers description box for any discount codes.
