HOW TO STAY PRODUCTIVE WHEN WORKING FROM HOME

Hello Everyone! For today's post i wanted to do something a little different, that wasn't about beauty/fashion/interior or food but more of an advice/tips post. The topic up for discussion is how to stay productive when working from home (or in general), as it can be quite easy to get distracted and then all of a sudden you are like where has the time gone? So here are my tips on how i stay productive...

1. HAVING A ROUTINE
Developing a routine that works for you is so important/useful, not only to help with time management but also for your own personal sanity. If you have a routine you will know what task you have to do when, so you are less likely to get stressed out about the simplest of things. Also waking up at the same/similar time each day, making sure to start your day off the same not bending the routine and then ending up running out of time or rushing something.

2. MAKE TO-DO LISTS
Making a to-do list can help with several different things, firstly to insure you don't forget anything important such as appointments or even something as simple like remembering to get milk or something for a certain blog post. The second thing that writing a to-do list helps me out a lot with, is planning out what post's i am going to post on what day, also if a random idea comes into my head i will simply write it down there and then.

3. TAKING A BREAK EVERY SO OFTEN
You might think that if you are trying to stay productive, why take a break? Taking a break is so important, firstly to recharge your batteries slightly and second of all if you have a non-stop working period you are eventually going to run on empty and lose that productivity. Split your work day up, such as what i usually do is focus on gathering what products i need for what post and taking photos in the morning. Take a break by having some lunch to refuel, then do more admin type of work in the afternoon from emails to writing up blog posts/editing (making sure to take 10 minutes break here and there by having a coffee or just hydrating in general).

4. KEEP YOUR WORK SPACE ORGANISED
Keeping your work space organised is important for so many different reasons and the saying "tidy space, tidy mind" couldn't be more true. This saying is extended to more than just the environment around you, keeping your "laptop/pc space" organised is a must. I like to keep separate files/folders for separate things, such as a folder titled the month and folders within for each post/task. Although saying that the environment around you does help too, i personally like to have a candle with a favourite scent burning to keep the space feeling calm.

5. AVOID SOCIAL MEDIA
During the hours that you are suppose to be accomplishing things avoid social media, because we all know what it is like, you click on Instagram/Twitter/Snapchat for a second and the next thing you know 30 minutes to an hour has past (sometimes even more if it's YouTube). Save social media for breaks or the end of the work day, when all of your tasks are complete. The only exception for going on social media whilst still working, is to share your work/new post etc. That being said the only social media app i will have open is Spotify, as i find listening to music helps me stay focused/shut out everything/anything that might be distracting around me.
