DRUGSTORE SKINCARE ALTERNATIVES #2: EXFOLIATE & MOISTURISE

Hello Everyone! Today i am back with part two of my "drugstore skincare alternatives" series of posts. Part one bought you some of my favourite cleansing products from the drugstore, from micellar waters to cleansing oils and even detoxifying face masks (you can catch part one here: Drugstore Skincare Alternatives #1). For today's post i am discussing all things exfoliating and moisturising available from the drugstore...

FACIAL SCRUBS -
We always remember it is good to exfoliate away all of the dead skin on our bodies, but a lot of the time it goes a miss when it comes to our face. Once every week or so i always like to go in with some type of gentle facial exfoliation, usually a product from Nip+Fab (which i will get into next). Before that product i always used to just switch out my normal cleanser for more of a facial wash type scrub, all three of these shown are ones i have reached for religiously over the years. They are all super gentle on the skin, yet they do what is needed to be done, i especially love the one from Clean & Clear as it really wakes you up first thing in a morning!

NIP+FAB FACE MASKS -
When it comes to any other kind of face mask other than a charcoal/clay mask, i always tend to reach for one of these three by Nip+Fab. In fact a lot of my skincare routine at the moment contains a Nip+Fab product, as i feel they have the drugstore price yet higher end quality to them. The glycolic scrub fix is the product i mentioned above, that i now use to exfoliate my skin usually once or sometimes twice a week - give or take! The other two masks both the bee sting and dragon's blood mask are great for both plumping/tightening the skin.

MOISTURIZER/SERUMS -
Moisturising is probably one of the most important steps in your skincare routine (along with cleansing obviously), as keeping your skin super hydrated and full of moisture not only helps your makeup apply a lot nicer and second of all keeps your skin looks youthful longer. My favourite drugstore moisturizer of all time has to be the Hydreane Riche by La Roche-Posay, followed by the Nivea Daily Essentials and also both brands provide different formulas for different skin types. When it comes to a adding extra hydration in the form of a serum if i am not using the Advanced Night Repair by Estée Lauder, i am forever reaching for this more affordable one from L'Oreal but if you are 30+ i recommend the Age Perfect Intensive Re-nourish Serum.

EYE CREAMS -
That final step to our skincare routine is usually eye cream, unless you like to apply that before your moisturizer but i personally like to do it last. A go-to higher end eye cream for me is yet again another product from Estée Lauder, as i just find they work well for me in a high end sort of way. That being said i have been using the Dark Circle Fix from Nip+Fab for a good few months now non-stop and i am obsessed, this works for me as i am prone to getting a lot of dark circles under my eyes. Other great eye creams i have tried are by Soap & Glory, as well as the Boots own brand one which is a bargain at only £4 a time. Other great brands for more of an anti-ageing/wrinkle targeting eye creams are definitely either L'Oreal or Olay, i know my mum is a fan of the Olay Regenerist range!

All of the pricing from this post is based on selected boots stores/online.
