ONE BRAND BASE MAKEUP: RIMMEL

Hello everyone! For the past week or so i have been trying out the new foundation/concealer duo by Rimmel, which is non other than the "lasting finish breathable" collection and of course i will be sharing my thoughts in this post. Whilst on the subject of Rimmel, i have found myself reaching for products from the brand a lot more frequently than i have done in the past. That being said this inspired me to start a new series on my blog, all about one brand base makeup products/looks and of course you guessed it kicking things off with Rimmel.

Kicking things off with priming the skin and if you have been reading my posts for the past few months, then you will know how obsessed i am with this primer/setting duo spray. As this is a spray and not a cream based product, it is super quick, effective and leaves your skin feeling super hydrated, as well as refreshed. As it is a 2-in-1 product you can also use it to finish off your makeup, locking it in place and keep it looking fresh.

So next up is foundation and the brand new release from the brand, which is a more easy wearing/light weight than the original lasting finish formula. First things first i am so in love with this foundation, i love everything about it and i didn't think i would. The stick applicator which allows you to control the amount of product you are applying, the formula is light-weight in consistency/feeling yet is still flawless and has amazing coverage. I like to apply this simply by using the applicator to dot the product around my face, before blending in with a damp beauty blender as always. The only change i need to do is pick up a slightly darker shade for when i am tanned, as the shade sand matches when i have little to no tan on.

Moving onto concealer and to say how much i love the foundation, i am not as in love with the concealer but still i don't hate it. The formula is super light weight and easy to blend/work with because of the sponge tip like applicator. The fault i have with this concealer though is for me personally it isn't as great coverage as i would like unlike the foundation, but if you like a lighter coverage concealer then you will love this.

The next step it so obviously set things in place with powder, as i have normal/dry skin i can get away with only setting into place the areas where i applied concealer to avoid creasing. I have tried a few different pressed powders from Rimmel over the years but this particular one, is a cult classic favourite loved by many. The texture of the powder is super silky/smooth, minimises pores and keeps the shine away.

Moving on to adding some shape/colour back into the face, starting with a product that i have not been able to put down just like the prime/setting spray and also from the #insta range by Rimmel. This shade medium is perfect for me as it is not too cool/not too warm in colour, is super creamy and easy to apply/blend out, as well as being long lasting. I also love how the highlighted side of the contour stick, has a slight shimmer but nothing too crazy leaving your skin with a healthy looking glow.

Just like when you apply foundation/concealer and you set it into place, you also want to set any cream contour/highlight products into place also. This trio palette from the Kate Moss collection is perfect for doing so, as it has a beautiful/pigmented bronze, highlight and blush shade all in one place. As this is a trio style product it is perfect for travelling, not only to keep the number of products down but also because of how sleek/compact the packaging is. If coral blush isn't for you, these also come in two other shades.
