EVERYDAY GLOW-Y SPRING MAKEUP: DRUGSTORE EDITION

Hello everyone! I mentioned in my previous post about how excited i was for this month, mainly because it is finally going to be spring and hopefully better weather is on its way very soon. With that in mind as well as preparing my wardrobe for spring, i also wanted to give my everyday makeup a switch up too. I had touched on it in a previous post how i had been on makeup buying ban, as i really didn't need anymore makeup but i did want to add a few new things just to switch things up. So i ended up placing an order on Superdrug to try some new drugstore pieces and i have ended up loving how my everyday makeup has been looking recently...

1. MUA pro base primer oil | click to buy |
So first up is this primer oil by MUA that i have been using every single day before i apply my makeup since towards the end of January, it is also one of the products that i mentioned in my february must-buys post. I love using facial oil's for hydration before applying my makeup, as i just feel like my makeup applies/lasts so much longer when i do and to say this product is just £4 i feel like it is just as good if not better than some higher end products that i have tried in the past.

2. maybelline dream satin liquid foundation | click to buy |
When i first spotted this foundation on the Superdrug website i was little confused, as i feel like this was a foundation that already existed or have they just re-branded the product? Anyway i decided to pick one up and give it a try, as i love Maybelline foundations, as you will already know if you have read my posts in the past because the Fit Me foundation is my go-to. What i love about this foundation is how much like skin your face still looks once it has been applied, yet it still has really good coverage and it leaves you with this beautiful yet natural radiant look.

3. barry M all night long concealer | click to buy |
I had seen a fair few people talking about this concealer by barry M and i have tried/loved one of their concealers in the past, so naturally i was intrigued to give it a try. The coverage of this concealer for such an affordable price is so good and it ticks all of the boxes, coverage wise, lightweight feeling, long lasting and brightening.

4. MUA luxe bronze & sculpt contour kit | click to buy |
So this product isn't a new-in product to my collection, it is one that i have loved for a while and it is that perfect spring/summer bronze shade, you know the kind that looks perfect with a tan. This product is one of those great travel friendly items to have in your collection as it contains both a bronzer and highlighter but i do generally just reach for the bronzer shade.

5. revolution jewel collection jelly highlighter |click to buy |
Back to something that is newer to my collection and one that i wasn't sure whether i was going to like it or not, but once again i was left feeling shocked at how beautiful it was. This highlighter by Revolution is a jelly like consistency and it isn't the kind of highlighter i would usually opt for, as i am such a powder or cream kind of girl. That being said i love how easy this product was to apply and blend out, leaving my skin glowing yet it still looked super natural and fresh. Once the product is blended in, it actually reminded me of my favourite bareMinerals highlighter and that is a cream to powder highlight.

6. revolution opulence highlight | click to buy |
This particular highlighter is one that i had wanted to try for a while but as i was on a makeup spending ban, i never picked it up. That being said i am so glad i finally did as it is the most beautiful powder highlighter, that the shades can be used individually or all together. Recently i have been reaching for one of the two highlighters, all depending on which one i feel like using that day but what i do love using the lightest shade in this compact to highlight my inner corner of my eyes with.

7. revolution pro microblading precision brow pencil | click to buy |
Is is just me or does anyone else feel like Revolution are killing the drugstore makeup game once again? I been obsessing over this brow pencil, which is so strange as i am such a pomade girl but i must admit i love how this leaves my brows looking. As the product suggests you can be super precise with this pencil with your brows, so much so it actually reminds me of the Benefit precisely by brow pencil but super affordable of course.

8. MUA amplify statement lash mascara | click to buy |
The only product that i haven't switched up is my mascara as i am still really enjoying using this one, which is by MUA once again.  I love how this mascara separates your lashes, leaving them looking full, long and clump free. For everyday makeup looks, i will just apply mascara to my top lashes only as i actually prefer the way that looks now.

9. maybelline color sensational creamy mattes lipstick | click to buy |
Finally for lips i love this Maybelline matte lipstick shade for spring, as it is the most beautiful light peachy-pink beige shade that is perfect for everyday wear. This is a matte finish lipstick but it isn't overly drying that some matte bullet lipstick can be, but if you do want to add a little gloss you can do easily as it goes with pretty much any gloss.

BACK TO BASICS: QUICK MAKEUP IN TEN MINUTES

Hello everyone! So now that we are definitely back to normal after Christmas and New Year's, i am definitely back to doing quick ten minute makeup looks on an everyday basis. When it comes to doing a quick makeup look for me personally i like to focus on the base, then keep everything else pretty simple and neutral...

1. maybelline fit me matte + poreless foundation | click to buy |
The first step once the clock starts after i have completed my skincare routine is of course foundation and if you have read my posts for a while, then you will already know this foundation is my go-to. This foundation for me lasts all day long without needing touch-ups, it applies/blends out effortlessly and looks flawless yet natural. I always pick mine up in the shade 220, which is natural beige and it always matches me perfectly.

2. anastasia beverly hills dipbrow pomade | click to buy |
Next i like to go in quickly filling in my brows using another go-to product of mine and a favourite of many, of course i am talking about the famous Anastasia Beverly Hills dipbrow pomade. My brows are naturally super full these days, which luckily means i don't have to spend too much time on them and this definitely has cut the time i have to spend doing my makeup down by a lot.

3. ps my perfect colour concealer | click to buy |
Going in with concealer next and i am back to using one of my favourite concealers, after a little hiatus due to the fact no Primark stores near me seemed to had any in stock. That being said i finally managed to pick some more up after they finally re-stocked in my local store. I love how this concealer is has great coverage, blends out effortlessly, doesn't crease and basically ticks all of the right boxes. Did i also mention that this concealer is just £2, such a bargain!

4. laura mercier translucent loose powder | click to buy |
For powder i have recently switched back to reaching for another old favourite, which i am really enjoying using again and i forgot how much i love the finish of. I have not used loose setting powder for a hot minute now, as i always tend to reach for my bareMinerals powder duo. As i do have normal/dry skin i can get away with using just a small amount of powder, i mainly just set all of the areas i have placed concealer and then with whatever is left set the rest of my face.

5. bareMinerals candlelight glow illuminator | click to shop bareMinerals |
When it comes to highlighter i do switch between a few of my different favourites, but they all always tend to be a golden shade. That being said for quick makeup looks this highlighter from bareMinerals is always one a gravitate towards, as it is quick to apply/blend out and has a beautiful natural cream to powder finish.

6. bareMinerals invisible bronze bronzer | click to shop bareMinerals |
Can you tell i love bareMinerals for base products? That being said this bronzer is definitely my favourite of the bunch, so much so i have barely reached for another bronzer ever since i tried it out. I have the shade Medium, which leaves you with a flawless yet natural bronze sun-kissed look to the skin that lasts all day without fading or going patchy. I will also go in with a small amount quickly on my eyes, rather than using eyeshadow.

7. MUA amplify volume mascara | click to buy |
As i mentioned at the beginning of the post once my base makeup is complete, i like to keep things super simple and that means all that i apply to my eyes then is some mascara. This mascara is one that i recently picked up again, after loving it so much the first time around. I love how it separates your lashes, leaving them looking full, long and clump free. For everyday makeup looks, i will just apply mascara to my top lashes only.

8. mac cosmetics matte lipstick in the shade kinda sexy |click to buy |
Finally all that is left to do is go in with lipstick and considering this particular shade of lipstick isn't my usual go-to kind of nude shade, i am still really enjoying wearing it on a everyday basis as it is just the most beautiful natural pinky-rose nude shade.

NOTHING BUT THE BAREMINERALS | EVERYDAY MAKEUP

Hello everyone! So fun fact i used to switch up my everyday makeup routine products every single month, now it is completely the opposite and i only ever switch a couple of things out every couple of months or so. This might seem boring but i have come to stick to what i like (i know we all do this more often than not) that being said now we are into autumn, i have switched up quite a few different products. With that in mind for today's post i thought why not share with you my current everyday go-to makeup...

First up is foundation and of course this is a foundation that hasn't been switched out for a while now, as it is my favourite foundation of all time. What i love about this foundation is it is so reliable and i know it isn't going to let me down, from its finish, the coverage, shade and how long-wearing it is. Talking of foundations i do really want to give the new Conceal + Define foundation by Revolution a try, as i still love love love the concealer.

As i just mentioned i am still completely in love with this concealer and i am currently reaching for it on a daily basis (so much so i am almost out). I honestly can't fault this concealer one single bit, it doesn't crease under the eyes even though it is a slightly thicker consistency as it is still hydrating. The coverage is medium-full/build-able and it comes in a such a wide range of different shades, to match so many different skin-tones.

You will probably of figured out already but i am loving reaching for a lot of bareMinerals products at the moment, but that is simply because i can't fault their products whatsoever. I just love the finish and feel of this powder to set my makeup in place, it feels super light and looks flawless and as this is a powder duo you have both the matte finish powder and glow finish powder to play with.

So this product was actually limited edition from last Christmas and i am really hoping they bring it back this Christmas so i pick up another to have in stock, as i have honestly never tried anything like it before. This highlighter is so uniquely beautiful, as it is in fact a cream highlighter that once applied and blended into the skin transforms into a silky powder finish. Once applied you are left with the most beautiful yet natural golden glow to the skin, especially if you apply is with a damp beauty blender/sponge.

I had been loving using one of the bronzing powders from Primark over the summer, that being said i am still too caught up on this bronzer by bareMinerals and i always always always go back to it soon enough. This bronzer has probably featured in nine out of ten everyday makeup posts, as just like the Maybelline Fit Me foundation this bronzer never lets me down. The shade medium is the perfect shade for my skin, it applies flawlessly, warms up the skin yet still looks natural and of course it stays looking fresh all day long.

So i have this small size in the all over face powder, which is the most beautiful deep yet warm bronze shade and i have actually been loving using it not on the face but on my eyes. The reason for this being is i do more often than not just use bronzer on my eyes, for a quick everyday eye look and as this product is more of a loose mineral product it takes zero effort to blend out. This product still leaves you with this beautiful warm/bronze wash of colour on the eyes, before i simply curl my lashes and pop some mascara on.

As i always use the Revolution brow tint in the shade dark brown on my eyes two-three times a week, i only ever have to go in with some brow gel to finish my brows off once i have done my makeup. The brow tint has honestly cut the time it takes to do my makeup down by half, it is such a heaven sent product and i don't think i could go without it now. That being said i do still like to apply some brow gel to set the hairs in place and get rid of any small powder bits that might have got onto my brows, that is why i always leave this until the end.

Finally we have the lip combination that i have been loving reaching for on an everyday basis at the moment, especially the lip liner by MAC in Spice as it is the perfect warm brown-ish nude liner for autumn. Then to lighten it up slightly i like to add a tiny amount of Cult liquid lipstick by bareMinerals to the middle of the lips before blending it in with my finger. The shade Cult is quite a light nude shade worn alone, yet paired with another lip colour it is simply stunning and not to mention long-wearing.

MAKEUP WISHLIST | BASE MAKEUP I WANT TO TRY

Hello everyone! I mentioned a few posts back now that i haven't really been spending any money on new makeup, as it hasn't really been a priority at the moment. That being said, it doesn't mean that i don't have my eye on a good list full of products that i can't wait to try out at some point. So for today's post i thought why not share with you the products that i am currently lusting after, which happen to be all base makeup products (which in my opinion is the best part about makeup).

When it comes to base makeup, i think we all know that highlighter is the best part and as soon as i laid eyes on this new release from Dior's new collection i fell in love. You can pick these beautiful beautiful highlighters up in six different shades but the shade nude glow is definitely my personal favourite and they retail for £34 each.

As i have normal to dry skin, i am always looking for skincare products that are going to give my skin the most hydration/moisture and there is something about this hydrating jelly that really appeals to me. As this is a jelly compared to your regular cream or serum, i feel like this would be really refreshing on the skin.

Of course there was going to be multiple highlighting/illuminating products through-out this post, next up is in a shimmer drop form. These shimmer drops available in two different shades are part of Smashbox's recent stunning limited edition collection, which i definitely want to pick up one of these soon as they look stunning and perfect for those lightweight yet glow-y less makeup days.

Next up is a more affordable product that i can't wait to give a go, i also hope that i end up loving it as much if not more than the previous conceal and define concealer released by Revolution earlier in the year. The concept of this concealer really reminds me of the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer, which has been loved by many including me for years now. Next time i pop into Superdrug, i will definitely pick one of these up.

To me during the summer months or even just those days where you want to wear makeup but nothing too much or heavy, it is always good to have one of those sheer/light-medium coverage foundations in your collection and this new release by Benefit is said to be just that. I really want to pick one of these up to give a go, as the reviews so far are really good and i am hoping i would like it more than the hello flawless foundation, which i wasn't a fan of.

bareMinerals is hands down one of my favourite brands, as everything just seems to suit my skin so well and i must admit i got a little excited when i saw this new face mask duo release. This mask is said to both purify and hydrate, leaving you with cleansed dewy looking skin. You can pick these new claymates mask duos up in two different types, the be pure and be dewy as well as the be bright and be firm finish.

Finally we have another illuminating product, this time from the brand that produced the ever so Instagram famous highlighting drops, that allow you to glow from space. This powder is said to be beautiful used either by each individual shade in the pan or mixed all together for an all over radiant look and who doesn't want to look radiant right? The packaging on this product is also super sleek and luxurious, i happen to be a sucker for gold metallic packaging ha!

DRUGSTORE BEACH HOLIDAY MAKEUP

Hello everyone! So when we are on holiday sometimes we want to go makeup free (with sunscreen of course) but there also might be times when we might want that little something extra, whether that be for taking pictures at the beach or maybe from only getting a few hours sleep the nights before. With that in mind for today's post i thought i would share with you the four beach/summer makeup products from the drugstore that are the perfect combination for a natural yet glowing base...

Of course the most important step before applying any makeup whether you are at the beach or in the sun in general, is to make sure you prep your skin by doing your regular skincare routine and applying face SPF. The next step is preping/priming, creating a base for other products to be applied on top of and a primer water is the perfect beach ready product. Unlike a cream based primer, a primer water is going to sink into the skin quicker and leave your skin feeling/looking hydrated. This one from Nip + Fab is definitely one of my favourites i have tried from the drugstore and of course it comes in at just under £10.

This look can be achieved with or without foundation but if you are going to be catching some rays, you don't really want to be sat with something heavy on the face. That is why this particular concealer from Bourjois comes in perfect, as it is going to give your that radiant coverage yet it is super lightweight on the skin. You could simply just apply this to the under-eye area, down the bridge of the nose, forehead as well as the chin area and blend out with either a damp beauty blender or brush for more coverage.

This is one of those products that i pretty much reach for every single time i want to go for a more cream bronzed look and it happens to be perfect, especially for adding a natural sun-kissed bronze to the face. I was always super scared to use cream bronzer/contour products until i tried this one out, as it is super creamy and easy to blend out. I usually opt for the shade medium but it also comes in a light shade, which i am having to use at the moment because i am all out of medium. If you wanted to keep this to a bare minimum you could keep it down to three items, as this contour stick is dual ended and comes with a cream highlight shade on the other side.

Moving onto the final product which is personally my favourite and the one that is going to pull the whole look together, giving you a natural yet dewy golden/bronzed beach look. This strobing cream can be used multiple ways, which is what i like so much about this style of product. You can either apply some of this to the face and blend it out for an all over dewy skin look, mixed in with foundations and also to selected areas of the face where the light would naturally hit. Another favourite of mine from the drugstore which is equally as beautiful, is the MUA prism strobe cream in the shade golden ray which is just £4 from Superdrug.

FLAWLESS + GLOWING NO MAKEUP, MAKEUP FOR SPRING/SUMMER

Hello everyone! Over the past week or so i have been reaching for the same makeup products, for a quick and easy no makeup, makeup look but still keeping that flawless finish to it. I am so obsessed with the way all of these products work together and it literally takes me around 15 minutes in total to create. I have noticed ever since i have been using the Revolution brow tint for my eyebrows, it has cut my makeup routine right now and it was probably taking me the longest to do my brows but this stuff it fuss free and easy...

First things first before i apply any form of makeup, i have been obsessed with using this spray every single day before i apply my foundation and after i have applied my NUXE dry facial oil. This spray can be used in so many different ways but my favourite way to use it, is before makeup and then afterwards to set it all in place and it leaves your skin looking/feeling super hydrated.

As this is a "no makeup, makeup" look i am going for i have actually been reaching for this foundation and even though it is a HD foundation, it is still light-weight feeling. The trick is to use a lot less than you normally would go far, just so you get that flawless/even base but your skin still looks like skin. This foundation is great for spring/summer or warmer weather, as it is super long-wearing and pretty sweat-proof too.

So this product is a way back when holy grail item that i always used to reach for, which i have recently re-discovered and i forgot how much i love this product. This is such a great light-weight product to pop under the eyes when you want a medium coverage with a highlighted finish, for a bright more awake under-eye.

I actually featured this particular product in a first impressions post last week, which you can catch up on here if you didn't catch it the first time. This is one of those products that you don't expect to be very good, but it is honestly one of the most beautiful items that you could have in your collection and especially for spring/summer. This gives your skin the most beautiful and healthy looking almost dewy/sunkissed glow, when applied with a damp beauty blender. I honestly can't put this product down at the moment for all of those reasons, as well as the fact it smells like coconut.

I have mentioned before how much i love reaching for this bronzer, especially in the summer months as it gives you the most beautiful sunkissed bronzed finish. The brand always release different limited edition versions of this bronzer every year, in a similar way to what Estée Lauder do. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative the bronzer i featured in that first impression i mentioned above, is super similar.

For eyes i keep things super simple, as it is still pretty much a no makeup, makeup look and a lot of the products are focused on the skin. That being said i still like to apply some mascara to my top and bottom lashes, i really like this ps pro mascara at the moment as you can achieve super long yet clump-free lashes really quickly and you don't have to apply in layers to build it up. Then i like to set my brows in place, even though i already have the brow tint on my brows.

Even though this is suppose to be "no makeup, makeup" i still like to go in with a nude lip combination of some kind and this particular one has been my one of choice just recently. I have mentioned in a couple of posts now how much i love this gloss, it looks super glossy yet not sticky and you can wear it alone, simply with a lip liner or lipstick/liquid lipstick as a topper.

AFFORDABLE/DRUGSTORE | MY GO-TO FLAWLESS + GLOW-Y BASE

Hello everyone! So just recently i have been completely obsessed with how flawless and glowing my everyday makeup looks especially the base, which let's face it isn't that the best part? I honestly think recently that this comes down to a combination of the products i am using both makeup wise and skincare wise, along side the fact that my skin has been so good the past couple of months. That being said product wise i didn't realise until the other day when everything was laid out to pop in a makeup bag, that in fact that pretty much every single base product i am using on my face at the moment is either a drugstore item or an "affordable" item...

Recently i have been completely obsessed with using this facial spray for simply spritzing on my face after i have gone in with my Nuxe Huile Prodigiuse Dry Oil, which is one of the non-affordable products but the Mario Badescu is considered "affordable" as it retails for £7 or £11 from BeautyBay and some drugstore brand facial sprays are around the £10 and over anyway. I love how hydrating/refreshing this feels and sits on the skin before and after makeup, which i do go back in with once i have finished my whole face just to set everything into place.

So once my skincare is all done, i don't ever really go in with a "primer" as such i would much rather go in with a strobe cream and recently i have been switching between these two different ones. Ever since the MUA Prism Strobe Cream launched i have been using it religiously, as it is simply beautiful and in-fact i am on my third tube now. The great thing about strobe creams is they give a "glow from within" glow rather than a glittery glow, they can also be used in multiple ways but i prefer to apply it directly to the skin before foundation but you could mix a little into your foundation too. The Primark strobe cream in the shade Champagne is a newer product to me but i seem to find myself alternating now between the two, the one by MUA is £4 and the Primark one is £2.

If you have read my posts for a while then you will probably already know that this foundation is probably my favourite foundation of all time and i did revert to reaching for something different for a while but i have jumped back into using this one, as i am just always so obsessed with how it looks, feels and lasts on my skin. Even though this is a "matte" foundation it doesn't in anyway look flat or matte, it definitely has a poreless/flawless natural finish and i love to add a tiny drop of the PS Pro Radiant Drops to it. I always blend out my foundation with a damp Beauty Blender but recently i have also been adding a tiny spritz of the Mario Badescu Facial Spray to the sponge, before blending out for a little longer than i usually would making sure everything is looking flawless.

Yet another product i have been obsessed with recently, which i honestly thought i wouldn't even like before i tried it out but i was completely wrong and that is the My Perfect Colour Concealer from Primark of all places. This concealer is super hydrating, has great medium coverage that is also build-able and it actually reminds me a little of a mixture of the L'Oréal True Match Concealer and the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. As well as being super hydrating the winner with this concealer for me is the fact that it doesn't crease whatsoever under my eyes and usually that is a struggle for me. There is another product to come from the range that i am also obsessed with...

So the powder to set the areas which i have put concealer i usually reach for is the bareMinerals Invisible Light Powder Duo, but i also reach for this one from Maybelline regular too and it is super comparable to the matte shade in the bareMinerals duo. I don't have to set all of my face with powder as i don't have oily skin, but i still like to set the areas i placed my concealer to keep everything set in place and crease-free looking all day long.

Now that we are into Spring/Summer i have really got back into the whole cream contour look and i have been reaching for a favourite from last year on a daily basis, then set into place with a favourite bronzer as of lately. I love how creamy/hydrating the Rimmel contour sticks are, they are super easy to work with, apply evenly and blend out flawlessly. So i will simply apply the contour shade to my cheeks, nose and jaw before blending out with my Beauty Blender before going in with my bronzer to set everything into place and warming up the skin a little more. I never thought i would say this but i have been completely obsessed with using this Primark Mattifying face powder in the shade Caramel as a bronzer, it is such a steal at only £2 and it looks simply beautiful on the skin. I honestly never thought i would reach for this over my bareMinerals Invisible Bronze Bronzer but i do, i also love using this shade on my eyes for everyday.

Finally we have the star of the show and of course one of my favourite steps, yes you got it... highlighter! I tend to switch my highlighter up on a daily basis because i am a complete highlighter hoarder and i tend to reach for what one i am feeling that day. That being said recently, i haven't been able to put this one from Maybelline down as it is simply blinding/beautiful and i am finally glad that we can get our hands on it in the UK. For me when it comes to highlighter i am all about that golden/bronze glow, so naturally i was going to be living for this shade.

QUICK, EASY + AFFORDABLE WEEKEND NO MAKEUP, MAKEUP

Hello everyone! I don't know about you but when the weekend rolls around, if i am not doing anything in-particular or nothing at all then i am all about that quick/easy no makeup, makeup life. That being said rather than wearing no makeup at all, it is still nice to look a little more human and put together (especially if we are stepping out of the house). You don't have to spend a small fortune to achieve this type of look either, as you can get a bunch of great products and also use multi-purpose products to save even more in the long run...

This particular foundation was a huge favourite of mine a couple of summers back but after a while i stopped, until recently that is and i have completely fell back in love with it. This is that perfect no makeup, makeup foundation as it has great coverage yet your skin still looks like skin, with a beautiful radiant finish to it. As you are trying to achieve that no makeup, makeup look this foundation has enough coverage to get away without having to pack on the concealer and as i do have normal/dry skin i can get away without powdering. RRP £9.99

ps 3-in-1 brow pencil in the shade tobacco
If you read my recent updated brow products post, then you will probably already know that this brow pencil has pretty much my go-to brow product ever since picking it up. No matter how i am doing my makeup, brows is never a step i skip as i always finds it adds so much definition to the face and pulls everything together. This brow pencil is super easy to use, whether that be the pencil side, the powder side and even the spoolie side. RRP £2

mua amplify statement lash black mascara
Just like brows, mascara is also always an important step for me personally, as i find just by popping a little mascara on the tops and bottoms of your lashes really opens up the eyes making them appear bigger. I am such a creature of habit when it comes to mascara and i always pick up the same one, yet recently i tried this one out from MUA and i love how it lengthens, leaves a voluminous finish and separates without clumping. RRP £3

w7 hollywood bronze + glow duo bronzer/highlighter
You are probably thinking this product looks familiar? When i first saw this product i thought how similar to the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar bronze and glow duo this looked. W7 isn't a brand i have tried too many products from but i absolutely love this palette and whenever i reach for it, i always wonder why don't i reach for it more. Both the bronzer and highlighter sides are pigmented, apply evenly and the bronzer shade is also perfect to pop a little something on as an eyeshadow. The only slight difference between the two products is i feel like the bronzer in this palette is slightly warmer in tone, which i honestly prefer. RRP £3.32

maybelline x gigi east coast lip liner pencil in the shade mccall +
nip+fab makeup matte liquid lipstick in the shade biscuit
If you are not feeling the lip, then this step can be skipped or replaced with some lip balm but i always like to finish it off with a nude lip as it just finishes it all off, especially if i am leaving the house. A favourite affordable nude lip combination i love is the Maybelline x GIGI lip liner, with the Nip+Fab liquid lipstick. I love these liquid lipsticks as they are super opaque with just one coat, long-wearing, comfortable to wear and come in the most beautiful range of nude/neutral shades. My favourites are Biscuit, Tart and Toffee.
Lip Liner RRP £5.99 | Liquid Lipstick RRP £7.95

MAKEUP REVOLUTION CONCEAL + DEFINE CONCEALER | REVIEW

Hello everyone! For today's post i am back with my second first impression/review post of the month, first time around i shared my love for the brand new mua luxe light lustre liquid highlighters and this time i am bringing to you my thoughts on the new concealer launch by Makeup Revolution. Makeup Revolution is another affordable/drugstore brand that i have tried and loved so many different things from in the past, so of course i needed to put this one to the test.

So when it comes to concealers i am super selective on what concealers i like, as not every concealer works for me as i do struggle with creasing a little bit unless my under-eye area is super hydrated because i do have a dry to normal skin type. Like many i have my go-to concealers, which just like this concealer they both happen to be drugstore and they are the Maybelline Fit Me concealer in the shade 10 and the Bourjois Radiance Reveal concealer in the shade Light. I always apply my concealer no matter what one i am using the same way, with the applicator into a triangle shape under my eyes, down the bridge of my nose and chin before blending out with a dampened beauty blender. I just prefer to do it with a sponge, the same way i do my foundation, as it is quick, easy and has a flawless/evenly applied finish afterwards.

Getting down to my actual thoughts on the new concealer by Makeup Revolution, if i was to put things about this concealer into a list of pro's and con's, it would definitely have more pro's than con's. This concealer is pretty much a drugstore first as this concealer is available in 18 (yes 18) different shades, ranging from fair to deep, with different undertones and retailing at just £4. The two shades i picked up were C2 and C6 as they are ones with the correct undertone for me. The shade C2 is the lighter shade of the two, which i will probably use when i am less tanned as it is a fair shade with a yellow undertone. The shade C6 is the shade i will opt for the most, as it is a light/medium shade also with a yellow undertone and is a very similar shade to the Maybelline Fit Me shade 10. The amount of product you get in the tube is slightly smaller than most concealers, as you get just over 3ML of product. Something i really like about this concealer is the doe-foot applicator, as it is slightly bigger than usual concealers and you also get a good amount of product in one go, rather than having to go back in more than once. Even though the texture of the concealer is fairly thick it doesn't look or feel heavy/cake-y on the skin and the coverage is definitely on the medium/high side. Something that is definitely going to make me want to reach for this concealer on a regular basis, is the fact it lasted all day long and looked freshly applied/brighter longer than some of my other concealers do. The only con about this concealer is it does dry down to a matte finish quite quickly, so what i have been doing is applying and blending in sections rather than applying it everywhere i would and then blending out. Over all i would rate this a 4 (maybe 4.5) out of 5!

MUA LUXE LIGHT LUSTRE LIQUID HIGHLIGHT

Hello everyone! In general i am definitely a self-diagnosed highlighter addict/hoarder, just as i am with any nude lip product. That being said for the past year or so i have become obsessed with using highlighter in liquid form, just as much as a powder finish and i have put a fair few to the test. Recently MUA launched a range of new liquid highlighters as part of their Luxe collection, which i have tried and loved so many products from before and therefor of course i just couldn't refuse giving this new launch a go.

If you saw my previous post talking about my 2017 beauty favourites then you will have probably read how last year was the year of the liquid highlighter for me (like i mentioned at the beginning of the post) and also how before then i had a fear of reaching for liquid highlighters, oh how things have changed and now i just can't put them down. I just love how a liquid highlighter can transform your face from looking matte/flat to looking naturally glowing and slightly dewy, it also couldn't be simpler to achieve by applying a small amount to the needed areas and blended out with a damp beauty blender/sponge. Liquid highlighters can also be used in several different ways other than straight to the area, such as mixed in with your foundation or applied before as a base and i tend to switch between these different methods.

Moving onto my first impressions/review for the new MUA luxe light lustre liquid highlighters, which are available in three different shades and i have been putting two of them to the test between Christmas and New Year. When i first saw the packaging i was so shocked how beautifully chic and high quality it is for the price point, as they retail at £5 for 30ml of product (currently £4 at Superdrug saving £1). Just like a lot of liquid highlighters this particular one also comes with a pipette applicator, which was a winner for me as this one actually works perfectly unlike some i have tried previously. I love the combination of frosted glass bottle with the chic black font and gold accent on the pipette lid, which makes the product look like a £30+ more high-end type of product rather than drugstore/affordable. Beautiful packaging aside the product inside itself is simply just as beautiful, as the formula is highly pigmented yet lightweight feeling on the skin that blends out effortlessly and flawlessly. Unlike the usual powder highlight the finish of a liquid highlighter is more of a healthy glow, that looks natural and skin-like rather than overly shimmery and sometimes more obvious.

ONE BRAND BASE MAKEUP: RIMMEL

Hello everyone! For the past week or so i have been trying out the new foundation/concealer duo by Rimmel, which is non other than the "lasting finish breathable" collection and of course i will be sharing my thoughts in this post. Whilst on the subject of Rimmel, i have found myself reaching for products from the brand a lot more frequently than i have done in the past. That being said this inspired me to start a new series on my blog, all about one brand base makeup products/looks and of course you guessed it kicking things off with Rimmel.

Kicking things off with priming the skin and if you have been reading my posts for the past few months, then you will know how obsessed i am with this primer/setting duo spray. As this is a spray and not a cream based product, it is super quick, effective and leaves your skin feeling super hydrated, as well as refreshed. As it is a 2-in-1 product you can also use it to finish off your makeup, locking it in place and keep it looking fresh.

So next up is foundation and the brand new release from the brand, which is a more easy wearing/light weight than the original lasting finish formula. First things first i am so in love with this foundation, i love everything about it and i didn't think i would. The stick applicator which allows you to control the amount of product you are applying, the formula is light-weight in consistency/feeling yet is still flawless and has amazing coverage. I like to apply this simply by using the applicator to dot the product around my face, before blending in with a damp beauty blender as always. The only change i need to do is pick up a slightly darker shade for when i am tanned, as the shade sand matches when i have little to no tan on.

Moving onto concealer and to say how much i love the foundation, i am not as in love with the concealer but still i don't hate it. The formula is super light weight and easy to blend/work with because of the sponge tip like applicator. The fault i have with this concealer though is for me personally it isn't as great coverage as i would like unlike the foundation, but if you like a lighter coverage concealer then you will love this.

The next step it so obviously set things in place with powder, as i have normal/dry skin i can get away with only setting into place the areas where i applied concealer to avoid creasing. I have tried a few different pressed powders from Rimmel over the years but this particular one, is a cult classic favourite loved by many. The texture of the powder is super silky/smooth, minimises pores and keeps the shine away.

Moving on to adding some shape/colour back into the face, starting with a product that i have not been able to put down just like the prime/setting spray and also from the #insta range by Rimmel. This shade medium is perfect for me as it is not too cool/not too warm in colour, is super creamy and easy to apply/blend out, as well as being long lasting. I also love how the highlighted side of the contour stick, has a slight shimmer but nothing too crazy leaving your skin with a healthy looking glow.

Just like when you apply foundation/concealer and you set it into place, you also want to set any cream contour/highlight products into place also. This trio palette from the Kate Moss collection is perfect for doing so, as it has a beautiful/pigmented bronze, highlight and blush shade all in one place. As this is a trio style product it is perfect for travelling, not only to keep the number of products down but also because of how sleek/compact the packaging is. If coral blush isn't for you, these also come in two other shades.

BUDGET BEAUTY WEEK: FULL COVERAGE GLOW-Y BASE FOR UNDER £50

Hello everyone and welcome to the final instalment of "budget beauty week" on my blog! To finish the theme week off, i thought i would re-visit and share an updated version of a popular post from earlier in the year which you can catch here. Since that post i have discovered a bunch of new products/ways to get products for less, that all go towards creating a perfect full coverage yet glow-y looking base for under £50. All of the products in this post are equally as good as some high-end products, extremely pigmented and easy to work with. I have also linked where to get what at the best offer/the lowest prices.

Kicking things off with the primer/setting spray duo that i have been personally not been able to put down, ever since i first tried it. Not only are you saving space in your makeup bag, but you are also saving money rather than buying two different products, you only need to buy one as you can use this to prime and set the face. I love how quickly this sinks into the skin, as well as leaving your skin feeling super fresh and hydrated.

I think as of recent this is probably my second favourite drugstore/affordable foundation, next to my beloved maybelline fit me matte and poreless foundation (but i always talk about that). The finish of this foundation is simply beautiful, it looks super flawless yet light-weight feeling on the skin, it has build-able medium/full coverage. The great thing about this foundation is that it comes in two different finishes for different skin types, normal/dry and combination/oily. If you want to take that natural radiant look to the next step, a drop of facial oil looks stunning added with the foundation.

This particular concealer was my concealer of choice for pretty much the whole of last year and that still continued this year also, along side the maybelline fit me concealer. If you want that highlighted/healthy radiant look both under the eyes and other highlighted areas of the face, then this concealer is a must try. I love how super light-weight it is yet still has amazing coverage and stays in place without creasing, it is honestly just an all round beautiful concealer.

If you are like me and love the maybelline fit me foundation/concealer, then you are going to love this powder equally as much. This particular powder is a newer release by the brand and like the other products in the fit me range, it is super affordable and does exactly what it says it does. The great thing about this powder is that it comes in a wide range of different skin-tone shades, as well as a translucent shade which is the one i personally like the most as i would rather not add any further colour or change the colour of my foundation/concealer.

If you are scared to give liquid highlight a try but you really want to, i highly recommend giving the newly released highlighters from makeup revolution a try. These liquid highlighters are super easy to apply, blend and they have a super natural finish so there is no danger of accidentally making yourself look like the tin man. Applying a small amount of this to the highlighted areas of your face, a drop into your foundation or before as a glow-y base can make all the difference.

To set that liquid highlighter in place/add a further glow to the skin, also another makeup revolution highlighter that is simply stunning and not to mention pigmented. If you are like me and love a golden toned highlighter then you will love this and be crazy not to give it a try, especially as it is only £5 and for such a huge pan/amount of product you get. If a golden glow isn't for you don't worry as this highlight comes in two other shades, a peach kiss and a ice kiss.

Finally we have bronzer, which can be a tricky one to get right but this particular one might sound off putting with "shimmer" in the title, that couldn't be further from the truth as it actually gives more of a healthy glow/warmth to the face. I have mentioned before how this bronzer looks really warm in the pan but it honestly applies beautifully and effortlessly blends out, also £2 is an absolute bargain considering you can pay anything from £28-£40 for a great more "high-end" bronzer.

total look cost: £39.21 (£10.79 under budget)

BUDGET BEAUTY WEEK: THE BUDGET FOUNDATION/CONCEALER I WANT TO TRY

Hello everyone and welcome to another instalment of "budget beauty" week! As i mentioned in yesterdays post, being the complete makeup addict/collector and hoarder that i am, i am always looking at new and existing makeup and lusting after so many things. I always like to share the particular things in posts that i am lusting after, so with that in mind i thought why not switch things up and rather than just do your standard "wishlist post" i thought i would share the budget foundations/concealers i want to try. For me the most important stages of makeup is foundation and concealer, because without the perfect base there is pretty much no point and i am always looking for new contenders to overtake my love for the fit me combination by Maybelline.

If you are from the UK like i am, then you will probably know it is super difficult to get your hands on wet n wild products. That being said i have seen so many US bloggers/vloggers talk about how amazing this concealer is and how it is super similar to the maybelline fit me concealer and also the nars radiant creamy concealer, which are also two of my favourite concealers. This concealer retails for the bargain price of $3.99, which is around £3 and it is available in 6 different shades.

Another product this time a foundation, that is currently not available in the UK (dear l'oréal please hurry up and launch already) and another product that is also talked so highly of/looks absolutely beautiful on everyone i have seen it on. I am a huge fan of l'oréal base products in general, so i am pretty sure i will be obsessed with this and even more so as i am obsessed with anything to give me a glow. This foundation retails for $12.99, which is around the £10 mark and is available in 12 different shades.

To follow up with the photo focus concealer, i also want to try the foundation from the same range. I have seen a couple of these foundations for sale on amazon but the sellers have placed them on there for such ridiculous prices, considering the foundation only retails for $5.99 so around £4.50. I have seen a lot of reviews stating that this concealer is similar in ways to the estée lauder double-wear foundation, yet a lot more comfortable to wear.

This concealer to me seems to be a similar concept and a much more affordable version of the pro longwear concealer by mac, although it seems the texture of this concealer is a little more lightweight (which is probably a bonus). This concealer retails for £8.90 in-store and online at kiko and is available in 8 different shades.

Ok so i have tried pretty much every single maybelline foundation, but i don't think i have ever tried this particular one. I am not 100% sure whether they have recently just changed the packaging or whether they have re-formulated the foundation also, but once i figure out what shade i need i will definitely put it to the test. This foundation retails for £9.99 and is available in 12 different shades.

Something that always comes in handy from time to time is a heavy duty concealer palette, with more of a cream like texture and i am looking to give a new one a go. I have tried a wide range of sleek products out before but never their face/base products. This concealer palette retails for £7.99 and is available in 3 different shades.

This foundation has had so many different reviews from good ones and bad ones, that being said this still makes me want to give one a try. Although the thing i am most unsure about is what shade to go for, as a selection of them look super similar and not so different but then there is the small part where people have said it does oxidize slightly. This foundation retails for £14 and is available in 24 different shades.

Finally l'oréal re-launched their true match foundation and now they have re-launched their concealer as well, so of course i need to give this a go again. This time around they have so many more shades of a wide variety, that can be used for multiple purposes. This concealer retails for £7.99 and is available in 14 shades, which is super rare when it comes to concealers.
