MAKEUP WISHLIST | BASE MAKEUP I WANT TO TRY

Hello everyone! I mentioned a few posts back now that i haven't really been spending any money on new makeup, as it hasn't really been a priority at the moment. That being said, it doesn't mean that i don't have my eye on a good list full of products that i can't wait to try out at some point. So for today's post i thought why not share with you the products that i am currently lusting after, which happen to be all base makeup products (which in my opinion is the best part about makeup).

When it comes to base makeup, i think we all know that highlighter is the best part and as soon as i laid eyes on this new release from Dior's new collection i fell in love. You can pick these beautiful beautiful highlighters up in six different shades but the shade nude glow is definitely my personal favourite and they retail for £34 each.

As i have normal to dry skin, i am always looking for skincare products that are going to give my skin the most hydration/moisture and there is something about this hydrating jelly that really appeals to me. As this is a jelly compared to your regular cream or serum, i feel like this would be really refreshing on the skin.

Of course there was going to be multiple highlighting/illuminating products through-out this post, next up is in a shimmer drop form. These shimmer drops available in two different shades are part of Smashbox's recent stunning limited edition collection, which i definitely want to pick up one of these soon as they look stunning and perfect for those lightweight yet glow-y less makeup days.

Next up is a more affordable product that i can't wait to give a go, i also hope that i end up loving it as much if not more than the previous conceal and define concealer released by Revolution earlier in the year. The concept of this concealer really reminds me of the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer, which has been loved by many including me for years now. Next time i pop into Superdrug, i will definitely pick one of these up.

To me during the summer months or even just those days where you want to wear makeup but nothing too much or heavy, it is always good to have one of those sheer/light-medium coverage foundations in your collection and this new release by Benefit is said to be just that. I really want to pick one of these up to give a go, as the reviews so far are really good and i am hoping i would like it more than the hello flawless foundation, which i wasn't a fan of.

bareMinerals is hands down one of my favourite brands, as everything just seems to suit my skin so well and i must admit i got a little excited when i saw this new face mask duo release. This mask is said to both purify and hydrate, leaving you with cleansed dewy looking skin. You can pick these new claymates mask duos up in two different types, the be pure and be dewy as well as the be bright and be firm finish.

Finally we have another illuminating product, this time from the brand that produced the ever so Instagram famous highlighting drops, that allow you to glow from space. This powder is said to be beautiful used either by each individual shade in the pan or mixed all together for an all over radiant look and who doesn't want to look radiant right? The packaging on this product is also super sleek and luxurious, i happen to be a sucker for gold metallic packaging ha!

BROW-DATE | UPDATED BROW ROUTINE 2018

Hello everyone! So it has been a post i haven't really done an updated version of for a while now, as nothing in my routine had really changed until a couple of months ago/recently because i am super fussy when it comes to my brows. But seeing as i finally switched some of the things i am using on my brows up, i thought why not share with you the products i am loving at the moment.

So every single day whilst i am doing my skincare routine, i always apply some of this brow conditioning primer by Benefit and i have been loving/using it for a couple of years now. This product i great to not only prep and allow brow products to last longer, but also as it is infused with keratin which helps your brows grow to be thicker and fuller over time. This product also comes in a mini/travel size now, which is great for sampling before investing in the full size (click to shop mini here).

If you read my recent testing primark beauty #2 post, then you will know that this was actually my favourite item from the pile of products i tried. I was super shocked at how much i love about this brow pencil from its easy to work with formula (both pencil and powder applicator), how perfect the shade tobacco is for my brows, the super handy spoolie and of course the fact that it is only £2 is simply mind blowing to me. Ever since picking this pencil up i have barely reached for anything different, that being said i don't think i will fully be giving up on my other well loved brow product coming next...

This product is one that has featured in every single one of my brow routine posts and is one that i have loved for so long now, as it is simply that good! So much so i feel as if it is the product that made me fussy when it comes to brow products now and i always refer to it as the bulletproof brow product. You might think that £19 for such a small product is a little steep, but a very tiny amount goes a very long way and lasts all day long through wind, rain, sun, sweat and snow.

Whenever i reach for the ABH dipbrow, i always reach for the Y23 pro angle brush by Morphe to fill in brows as i love how precise you can be with application but the bristles on the brush aren't overly stiff. The angle of the brush is also perfect for creating that really nice arch to the brows, as well as filling in and picking up product evenly. I also always use the Y21 flat definer brush by Morphe to clean up/conceal the brows if needed or if i just want them to be super defined.

Finally, finally, finally after so many years i finally found a brow gel that i love equally as much if not more than the L'Oréal brow artist plumper, which is the pro longwear waterproof brow set gel in the shade brown/ebony by MAC. What i love so much about this product is how small the wand/brush is, as it allows you to be more precise when it comes to setting your brows into place. This particular shade is the perfect colour for my brows, as it is dark by not warm toned as some brown shades tend to add a reddish tint to my brows.

BROW PRODUCTS TRIED AND TESTED

Hello everyone! Earlier this year i shared with you all my current brow routine, which you can catch here if you haven't already and i mentioned how i barely switch up the products up that i use on my brows. Saying that over the years i have tried out my fair share of eyebrow products, before landing on a cult favourites and just recently i have been trying to switch things up from time to time. With that in mind for today's post i thought i would share with you some tried and tested eyebrow products, that i love and would recommend giving a go.

So i thought i would kick things off with the "cult favourite" brow product that i mentioned and is something i used every single day for well over a year, because i was that obsessed with it and i still have so much love for this product. Using a pomade is super easy to control what you are doing with the product, as you are using a brush to create the shape/hair-like strokes. This product will keep your brows on through anything, sun, sweating, rain, hail, snow as it is completely budge proof and waterproof. This pomade retails for £15 but is well worth the money in my eyes, this tiny pot will last you such a long time and a little goes a long way.

If you are still not convinced about the ABH dipbrow pomade or you have never tried a brow pomade out before and you don't want to spend a ton of money, on something you might not like then this product is for you. Just like the ABH one this is also is also long wearing, budge proof and has a similar if not identical formula. The only difference between the two products is this one is probably a touch cooler in tone and this one only retails for £5 on tam beauty or superdrug in-store and online.

If brow powder is your thing then you definitely need this one in your life, which also happens to be from freedom makeup london and another dupe for an ABH product. This brow powder is pigmented, yet easy to work with and also long wearing. As this is a brow powder duo is comes with two different shades one cool toned and one a little darker (which is the one i always use) but you could use a mixture of the two all depending on your personal preference. The most baffling/amazing thing about this product is the fact it only retails for £2 for such an amazing product, that i have been reaching for on a regular basis recently.

This product has been a real brow saviour and is something i have used every single day on my brows for around a year now, i simply brush some on my brows before i start my makeup. This products acts almost like a primer for your brows, allowing product to sit/last longer and better, as well as encouraging your brow hairs to grow fuller and thicker. It isn't the cheapest of product retailing for £23.50 but just like a lot of brow products, a little goes a long way and lasts you for quite a while.

This particular product from L'Oréal is another cult favourite of mine and one that i go back to over and over again, as nothing ever seems to quite compare to this brow gel for me. I like to brush/set my brows in place by combing through them with this upwards, doing this gives you the appearance of fuller and fluffier brows that will stay put all day long. A great thing about this product is as it is tinted, you could simply apply a small amount to your brows if you are in a hurry and you would be good to go. Another great product from the L'Oréal brow artist range is the brow artist shaper in the shade dark brunette and probably my favourite drugstore brow pencil, as i really struggle with the shades of pencils being too warm toned and making my brows appear reddish, yet this one doesn't do that at all and it is also super easy to work with.

So i picked this up in the sale on feel unique recently, as i really wanted to experiment more with brow pencils and i thought why not give this one a go, as i always love anything i have tried from Estée Lauder and this product was no different. Even though this is in the shade black, you wouldn't think so as it isn't too dark and it matches the tone of my brows perfectly. The tip of this pencil is super thin and is perfect for creating hair like stokes, for a full yet natural everyday brow. This is also a duo product so one end is the brow product and the other end is a beautiful brow bone highlight shade, that allows you to clean/neaten up the brows easily.

Finally we have a product that will make all the difference when it comes to filling in your brows and also their over-all appearance when you aren't wearing makeup. I have tried a couple of different brands of eyebrow dyes, yet nothing compares to this one from Eylure. A lot of the time we are quick to spend unnecessary money on getting our eyebrows tinted at a salon, when you can get the exact same result easily from the comfort of your own home. One of these dybrow kits lasts for 12 or more uses for around the £7 mark and some salons charge more than that for one treatment.

BROW-DATE: WHAT I USE TO FILL IN MY BROWS

Hello everyone! Just recently i finally switched up a few products in my everyday brow routine from tools to clean-up concealers, including a product i have been using for a while but have failed to mention it in a post for some reason that i only just realised before doing this post. So with that in mind for today's post i thought i would give an updated "what i use to fill in my brows". Catch my previous brow routine post here.

Kicking things off with the product i mentioned before and how i have been using it for a while now but haven't mentioned it in a post before. This is what i use every single day to prep my brows, i will apply it once i have applied my face primer before foundation, this way it has time to settle in before i begin to fill my brows in. This product is designed to prime your brows, whilst the keratin helps with fuller/thicker brows over time.

Moving on to what i always use to fill in my brows and even though i have switched things up, some things haven't changed. I just think down to personal preference i will always opt for a brow pomade, as they are easy to control with a brush, a little goes a long way and it is such a long-wearing product. You could literally survive wind, rain, snow, heat with this product on your brows and it will not budge.

For the longest time i have always used the zoeva 317 liner brush to fill in my brows, but i really wanted to switch things up and i decided to give a couple of the morphe brushes a go this one being one of them. I love how the bristles on the brush a soft yet still firm enough to be precise and the angle of the brush is perfect for creating an arched brow. I also prefer how these particular brush handles are shorter in length.

So once i have filled in my brows, i like to go in with a concealer to clean them up. Doing this just allows them to look more polished, as well as slightly highlighting the brow bone area. I recently picked up this concealer from morphe whilst shopping on beautybay, as i was super intrigued to give it ago after hearing so many mixed reviews. My personal opinion on this concealer is that i love it, the only thing i can see where people don't like it is that it is slightly less hydrating for the under-eyes than other concealers but it isn't an issue.

Another concealer that i use to clean my brows up with and one that i have used for a while now, as it always does a great job of highlighting the brow bone at the same time because it is pretty light in colour. That being said now that i have been using the morphe concealer, i actually prefer to use that over the select cover-up but i will still switch between the two.

Another morphe product and another brush, this time the Y21 which i use to apply the concealer to clean my brows up with. The flatness of this brush really allows you to be super neat when cleaning up your brows, as it does so much of the work for you. Just like the Y23 brush, the bristles on this brush are also soft yet still firm so you can be super precise. I definitely think i will be investing in a few more brushes from this collection.

milani clear brow shaping gel
Finally of course once everything is done, you have to set them in place with a brow gel. You might know if you have read my posts for some time, that the l'oréal brow artist plumper has been my go-to brow gel for the longest time and nothing seemed to compare to it. That being said recently i started using this clear brow gel from milani and i really like how it sets your brows into place, keeps them in place just like a hairspray would for your hair. A lot of the time clear brow gels can be sticky/wet looking on the brows but this one doesn't do that.

SPRING/SUMMER ACCESSORIES: PEACHY SHADES

Hey guys! One of my favourite colours to wear when it comes to spring/summer is anything peach coloured, coral or even just pure orange. So i thought i would share with you a few of my favourite accessories and beauty items...

Firstly i thought i would show you some of my "go to" beauty items...

Benefit Coralista Blush - £23.50
This is just the most perfect blush for spring/summer as if gives you that perfect peachy glow.

The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Butter - £13
If you love peachy scents as much as the colour then you will love this. This particular scent is new in at The Body Shop and i am totally hooked, i have it in the body butter, shower gel and body mist!

No7 High Shine Lip Gloss (Coral Kiss) - £9
This is my favourite peachy/coral lip gloss that i have in my collection, it is the most perfect shade for the time of year. What i love about the high shine lip glosses is that they are really glossy looking but not sticky.

Revlon Lip Butter (Juicy Papaya) - £7.99
The lip butters are such an amazing thing to wear during the late spring/summer months because they are so light wearing, you get that colour pay off and your lips still feel hydrated.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Polish (Papaya) - £3.99
This nail polish has got to be in my top 5 of all time in my nail polish collection, i am just obsessed with this colour. The great thing about the gelly nail polishes is that they are so long wearing.

Models Own Nail Polish (Fuzzy Peach) - £5
I have always been a fan of Models Own nail polishes as they are another brand that make the nail polishes so long wearing, it is so similar to the Barry M one but maybe a shade darker.

Anther great way to wear this pop of colour is with a great pair of flat sandals. I have been looking for a while now for a new pair of sandals as i usually just get them from Primark as they are cheap and it doesn't matter too much if they get damaged during the summer months, a lot of the sandals in Primark are around the £10 mark now but then i spotted these New Look ones on ASOS and they were a bargain at £7.99, they also do them in white and lilac (which i am also tempted to buy).

Another way to add a pop of colour is with jewelry, it can add a little something extra to a plain outfit like these rose gold bracelet set from River Island and are pretty inexpensive at £10 for the set. If you didn't want to wear multiple items you could just go for one single bracelet with the pop of peach colour, i think this bracelet was from Primark so again pretty inexpensive.

What is your favourite colour to wear at this time of year?

HUGE ONLINE HAUL (NARS, MAC, NYX, BOOHOO AND MORE)

Hey guys, hope you have all had a lovely week and are looking forward to the bank holiday (UK) or even if your weekend is just a regular one! So i think i have mentioned in a couple of previous blog posts that i have in fact been banning myself from buying any makeup the last month and a half, i am not going to say that i didn't not buy any at all but i didn't get anything that wasn't necessary but i think i did pretty well. I have now lifted the ban and of course what did i do?... YES I WENT SHOPPING ONLINE! and i went a little crazy but everything i got is things that have had good reviews and i have wanted to try for a while. I also bought a few clothing items and accessories too. So if you want to see what i bought please keep reading...

I have been wanting to try out these NARS items for so so long but when you first look at the price you question buying them but in the end they are so worth it. I got an e-mail from HQhair with a 20% off nars items code so of course i had to take advantage.

NARS Sheer Matte Foundation in the shade Light4 Deauville - £30.50
(I used http://findation.com/ to see which shade was a match for me).

NARS Bronzing Powder in Laguna - £26.
(The classic go to high end bronzer, raved about by many bloggers and youtubers).

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in the shade Biscuit - £21
(This looked a lot lighter online and it is slightly dark for me right now but come summer it will be the right shade for me).

NARS Lip Gloss in the shade Sweet Dreams - £17.50
(Such the perfect pinky nude shade and they last well).

The next online order i made was from Debenhams and i got the 10% off when you buy 2 beauty items because i have one of their beauty point cards.

MAC Satin Lipstick in the shade Snob - £15.
(I have been wearing this everyday since i got it because it is the most stunning pink).

MAC Prep+Prime Highlighter in the shade Bright Forecast - £18.
(I had seen Tanya Burr use this highlighter in a couple of her videos and i am all about the under eye highlight, so i had to give this a go).

Benefit Gimme Brow in the shade Medium Deep - £17.50.
(I can honestly say when i am doing my makeup i spend the most time on my brows, i think this seems so cool as it has the tiny fibers in with the brow gel).

Benefit Fake Up Concealer in the shade 02 Medium - Free Sample.
(I also purchased a gimme brow for my sister at the same time so i got given this sample size).

YSL Baby Doll Mascara in the shade Fetish Black - £24.50
(The packaging on YSL products is just so beautiful on its own but they make great mascara).

NYX products can be super hard to get your hands on in the UK unless you buy online but whilst browsing in Next last week i spotted a NYX stand, i'm not going to lie i got way too excited and did a little dance.

NYX Dewy Finish Makeup Setting Spray - £8.
NYX Blush in the shade Angel - £6.
(I have only ever really used MAC fix+ or Urban Decay Setting Sprays before, so i thought i would give this one ago as it is a lot more affordable).

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in the shade Beige - £6.
Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in the shade Just Peachy - £6.99 (Superdrug).
(Just because you can never have too many lip glosses haha).

The next online order i made was from Boohoo, which is clothing and accessories.

Gold Statement Necklace with Lilac and Wasp detailing - £6 (Sale).

Kimono with Floral and Tassel detailing - £20.

Swing styled Playsuit with Zig Zag detailing - £12.

Plain Grey loose fitting Top - £8
(I also got one in black, shown below).

COLLECTIVE BEAUTY HAUL

Over the past couple of weeks i have purchased a few different beauty related items both online and in boots which for those who do not know what boots is, it is basically a drugstore in the UK. Some of the items i have bought i have already tried them out but some i just got yesterday so i haven't tried them as of yet.

1. Maybelline Baby Skin (instant pore eraser) primer- £7.99
I have been using this primer every single day since i bought it and i truthfully have no bad word to say about it, it's such a great primer. A lot of people have likened it to the Benefit Porefessional but the Baby Skin is obviously a lot more affordable if you're on a budget.
2. Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede (030 high heels) lipstick- £8.99
I love love love this lipstick, the colour is a really nice shade of pink not too pale and not too bright, super pigmented and very long lasting. I will definitely be buying more colours very soon.

3. NYX Liqud Crystal (lcl103 crystal pink) glitter liner- £4.00
I just got this specific colour yesterday and haven't tried it out yet but i have it in a gold colour and i really like it. It has a really good formula, not clumpy and applies so easy.
4. NYX Mega Shine (138 rust) lip gloss- £6.00
I really like this lip gloss, the formula is really nice and glossy but not sticky. I usually apply this on top of my favourite nude lipstick (NYX celene) the two work really nice together.
5. NYX Glitter On The Go (golden peach) loose glitter- £4.50
I have tried this glitter pigment a couple of times and i really liked the way there was no fall out which sometimes with glitter can drop down during the day, i always apply it with a flat eyeshadow brush with some MAC fix+ and pat it onto the lid.
6. NYX Lip Pencil (816 fushcia) lip liner- £3.50
I swear by NYX lip liners they are one of my favourite's, so i decided to purchase it in this purple colour to team it with another lipstick i have bought which will be shown in the next image.
7. NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil (703 pink nude and 727 vanilla ice) lip crayons- £5.00 each
I have always liked the jumbo eye pencils and a fan of lip crayons in general so i thought i would give these two a go and i really like the finish of them you don't really need a gloss on top as they are pretty glossy on their own, i will definitely be purchasing more colours in the future.

8. NYX Diamond Sparkle (ds21 sparkling satin) lipstick- £4.00
I just got this lipstick yesterday and haven't tried it out yet. I love the shade it's such a pretty pink which is right up my street as i am such a pink/nude lipstick kind of girl.
9. Collection Little Mix (perrie) lipstick- £2.49
This is the lipstick i will pair up with the NYX lip liner shown in the previous image. It really reminds me of the shade which Beyoncé is wearing in the "No Angel" music video, so i am so excited to try this out.

10. Revlon Lip Butter (027 juicy papaya and 005 sugar frosting)- £7.99 (2 for £10 at boots)
I have always wanted to try these for the longest time as i have heard so many people say lots of great things about them. So i finally went to try one and the were also on special offer so i got two. They are really moisturizing which is always a good thing and they have a really nice sheen to them.

11. No7 Exquisite Curl (black) mascara- £5.00 (sale at boots)
I always like trying and finding different mascaras and this was in the sale over half price, so that was a bargain i couldn't refuse. My favourite thing about this mascara is the curved wand.
12. No7 Poppy King Rain Drops (playing, a red colour) lip crayon- £2.00 (sale at boots)
I have never tried out a No7 lip crayon before so i am excited to try this particular one out. This was also a sale item and i am unsure what the full price was as it is a limited edition collection. I swatched the crayon and it is super pigmented, i really like the fact it comes with a jumbo sharpener on the end.

13. Clean and Clear Morning Energy (skin brightening) facial scrub- £3.99
I had ran out of my usual L'Oreal facial wash and wanted to try a different morning time facial wash, so i went for this facial scrub and i honestly prefer it to my usual one. The smell is amazing (lemon and papaya) and it is really energizing and wakes me up in the morning.
14. Nivea Hydro Care (aloe vera) lip balm- £1.58
I have so many different lip balms as i feel as you can never have enough but i had none in stick form and i wanted one to travel with as it is more hygienic when you are on the go. Simple but a classic item.

Hope you are all having a lovely week and are staying warm if you're in this cold weather...

Katie
