MONDAY MOTIVATION #2 | GYM/WORKOUT MAKEUP

Hello everyone and welcome back to my "Monday Motivation" series this July on my blog! I know so many of us don't always feel super confident when it comes to leaving the house without wearing makeup, including when working out/going to the gym. If you are working out then you obviously aren't going to want to be wearing a full face of makeup that you are just going to sweat off, but you still might want a little something. With that in mind for today's instalment i thought i would share with you, the perfect workout makeup combination...

First up is a product that you could use simply on its own before heading for a workout, or as a prep and set in-between makeup application. The Mario Badescu facial spray is super hydrating, refreshing and fast absorbing on the skin. My favourite way to apply is after my skincare, before applying any makeup and then setting everything into place with a few more spritz.

Fun fact i have actually used this concealer pen for years now, as it is one of the most perfect light weight products for those no makeup, makeup times. My favourite way to apply/wear this is to simply pop some under my eyes, down the bridge of my nose, chin and centre of my forehead before blending out with a damp beauty blender. The coverage is medium/build-able, long wearing, sweat proof and not to mention brightening.

| similar options |

Personally if i was only able to wear one product out of everything then i would definitely choose mascara, as by simply applying a little mascara it can open your eyes making you appear more awake/stand out more. In an ideal world you are probably going to want to opt for a waterpoof mascara, to stop transferring onto your eye lids or under eye area caused by sweating. Personally this mascara even though it isn't a waterpoof formula, i still feel like it doesn't transfer as much as some other regular formulas are.

So i am pretty lucky where i can get away with just applying a little brow gel to my brows for working out, rather than having to fill them in as 9 times out of 10 i have my brow tint on my Revolution which lasts for up to 5 days. That being said simply by setting your brows in place, can add some shape and definition to them.

| similar options |

Finally this step is completely optional, it just comes down to personal preference but personally i simply like to apply a super natural lip liner just to add some shape/definition to the lips. I simply line my lips as i usually would, then applying a little more in the centre and blending it in with my finger for a natural look. If lip liner isn't for you, you could either leave them bare or simply apply a little of your favourite lip balm for a natural shine.

CARRY-ON LUGGAGE ESSENTIALS

Hey guys, i hope you all had a great weekend. When it comes to flying/travelling sometimes we tend to over pack on things we think we need rather than things we actually need. There is also nothing worse than carrying something that is either super heavy/unnecessary in your bag or when your bag is unorganized so you are left rummaging around in your bag and things could get messy! So today i thought i would show you the way i would pack my carry-on luggage and the essential items i would take...

This black tote bag is the perfect bag when it comes to travelling as it is super light weight yet spacious and also the handles make it easy to carry either on your arm or shoulder. I did a blog post on this bag back in February when i first got it you can check that our here:

Let's get to what is inside of my bag...

This cute patisserie designed A6 zip lock wallet is perfect for keeping all of your important items in like your passport (obviously you wouldn't get far without that), cards, id, money or any other important papers.

Clear or Transparent bags are a must for your beauty items not only because of security and safety reasons but they make finding things easier as well as being waterproof so if something does leak you can wipe it clean, without damaging your bag. You can get these easily at boots/superdrug or even on amazon.

Some of these items are unnecessary for shorter flights but a great for longer flights...

1. NSPA Toning Mist - This is great for if you want to give your skin a cool and fresh boost, another great thing about this product is that it can be used over makeup although i wouldn't recommend wearing makeup on a long flight as it wouldn't be good for your skin.

2. Dove Deodorant Stick - Deodorant is a must (i mean you want to stay smelling nice) the stick deodorants are super convenient as the packaging is slimmer than other deodorants and it isn't in aerosol form.

3. Soap & Glory Hand Food - It's important to keep your hands moisturized as flying can be very dehydrating on your skin, an added bonus is that it smells amazing.

4. Eye Drops - Eye drops are good more if you are on a longer flight as your eyes could get dry and irritated and also it's an essential if you are a glasses or contacts wearer.

5. Extra Ice Mints - It's always a must to carry either mints or chewing gum whilst traveling not only to keep your breath nice and fresh but also chewing on something can help with the pressure whilst taking off.

6. Hair Ties - It's always handy to carry hair ties in case you just want to get your hair out your face and for when you want to apply any of your lotions and potions.

7. Kleenex Balsam Pocket Tissues - You never know what you might need a tissue for many different purposes, always a must for me.

8. L'Oreal Nude Magique BB Powder - Face powder is good for if you want to touch up before arriving and this particular one is great as it has it's own compact mirror built in.

9. Clarins Bi-Sérum - This item is a daily must item for me not only when travelling, i like to apply this before my moisturizer and as it is from the HydraQuench range it is super hydrating, perfect for your face.

10. Clinique Moisturizing Gel - This is my moisturizer in mini form which is super handy as you don't really want to cart the full size around with you and as i said above i apply this after the Bi-Sérum to keep my skin soft and hydrated during the flight.

11. Hand Sanitiser - This product is a must for me in everyday life so it would most likely be the first think in my in flight essentials as well as i am such a germaphobe and planes can be the most unsanitary places.

12. Lip Products - Lastly for the beauty items, lip products. Its essential to carry lip balm because as well as the rest of your face and body needs to keep hydrated so do your lips. I also like to carry a lip gloss or lipstick as well just to apply before landing to make yourself feel a little bit put together.

Now for the rest of my bags contents...

1. Kindle/Tablet - It is good to take some entertainment on a flight with you to help pass some time by rather than being bored, you can either read a book, play games or watch movies and tv shows if you have them downloaded onto your device.

2. iPod and Phone (not shown on image) - Obviously you can't really use your phone for internet purposes in flight but you can listen to music on your iPod also to pass some time.

3. Purse/Wallet - Obviously you need your purse to keep your money in whether it is your home country currency or from the country you are traveling to.

4. Sunglasses - Sunglasses are definitely a must even more so if you are headed to a warm/sunny country, not only to protect your eyes from the sun but it might be a shock to the system when you step out from the plane, wearing sunglasses will help your eyes adjust to the brightness.

I hope you have found some of these tips and tricks handy if you are headed somewhere...

MAKEUP MONDAY: ESSENCE HAUL

Hey guys, i hope you all had a great weekend! So for a while now i have been noticing people posting pictures on social media of lots of makeup from the German makeup brand Essence and i thought to myself i wish they sold this in the UK. Then last week to my surprise i discovered that they have now launched in the UK at selected Wilkinson stores and my local store is one of them! Another thing that also impressed me is that all the products in the brand are super affordable with prices ranging from 99p to £3.99. So obviously after making this discovery i had to go and check out the stand, being honest i could of purchased the entire stand but i restrained myself and only bought a handful of products to try out before purchasing more. MAKEUP MONDAY: FAVOURITE AFFORDABLE LIP GLOSSES

Hey guys, i hope you all had an amazing weekend! I think so many "makeup addicts" me included when it comes to lip glosses we just can't get enough. To some people they will probably think but you have that same shade of lip gloss already... that doesn't matter, i am just obsessed! I also think that some of the best lip glosses available are so affordable in comparison to some higher end lip glosses that are in fact disappointing. So here is some of my favourite and affordable lip glosses...

The majority of my lip glosses in my collection are pink or pinky/nudes as that is what i like to wear the most and it is in fact the colour what i feel suits me the most...
From L-R:

Sleek Matte Me (ultra smooth matte lip cream) in the shade Petal - £4.99 Superdrug.
This isn't glossy obviously as it is matte but it's obviously liquid lip colour rather than a lipstick. This is the most beautiful shade of pink on me and the staying power is amazing, it lasted about 6 hours on me and that was with eating and drinking!

MUA Sheer Finish (lip gloss tube) in the shade Cute Talk - £1 Superdrug.
I seriously don't think you could get a better lip gloss for only £1, the consistency is really glossy and shiny but not too sticky. As this in a tube i usually do like the apply this with a lip brush as that is just what works best for me.

Revlon Super Lustrous (lip gloss) in the shade Snow Pink - £6.99 Boots.
This lip gloss is one of my favourites to wear over MAC's creme d'nude as it isn't too sheer but it just adds a really nice shimmer to the lipstick as it has tiny specks of glitter in the gloss.

Tanya Burr (lip gloss) in the shade Just Peachy - £6.99 Feel Unique.
Everybody is obsessed lately with Tanya Burr's lip glosses and right to be as well who doesn't love Tanya Burr? and her collection is amazing. You can wear it as it is or on top of a lipstick and they look great either way. I only have two at the moment but i am planning to get my hands on some more soon.

NYX Butter Gloss (lip gloss) in the shade Eclair - £5 NYX.
This lip gloss is the newest addition to my collection, i mentioned in a previous blog post that i have wanted to try these for so long and i really wish i had sooner now... i have been wearing it every day since i got it! They apply really nice, long lasting and keep their shine.

Wet n Wild Mega Last (liquid lip colour) in the shade Click on my HyperPink - £2.54 - BeautyJoint.
These particular liquid lip colours are really similar to the Sleek "Matte Me" ones, they go on really nice and your lips don't feel dry how some can make your lips feel like that, they still feel hydrated. The only thing is about these is they don't have as good of staying power as the sleek ones.

Here is swatches of each of the lip glosses mentioned above...

What lip glosses are your favourites?
