MAKEUP REVOLUTION CONCEAL + DEFINE CONCEALER | REVIEW

Hello everyone! For today's post i am back with my second first impression/review post of the month, first time around i shared my love for the brand new mua luxe light lustre liquid highlighters and this time i am bringing to you my thoughts on the new concealer launch by Makeup Revolution. Makeup Revolution is another affordable/drugstore brand that i have tried and loved so many different things from in the past, so of course i needed to put this one to the test.

So when it comes to concealers i am super selective on what concealers i like, as not every concealer works for me as i do struggle with creasing a little bit unless my under-eye area is super hydrated because i do have a dry to normal skin type. Like many i have my go-to concealers, which just like this concealer they both happen to be drugstore and they are the Maybelline Fit Me concealer in the shade 10 and the Bourjois Radiance Reveal concealer in the shade Light. I always apply my concealer no matter what one i am using the same way, with the applicator into a triangle shape under my eyes, down the bridge of my nose and chin before blending out with a dampened beauty blender. I just prefer to do it with a sponge, the same way i do my foundation, as it is quick, easy and has a flawless/evenly applied finish afterwards.

Getting down to my actual thoughts on the new concealer by Makeup Revolution, if i was to put things about this concealer into a list of pro's and con's, it would definitely have more pro's than con's. This concealer is pretty much a drugstore first as this concealer is available in 18 (yes 18) different shades, ranging from fair to deep, with different undertones and retailing at just £4. The two shades i picked up were C2 and C6 as they are ones with the correct undertone for me. The shade C2 is the lighter shade of the two, which i will probably use when i am less tanned as it is a fair shade with a yellow undertone. The shade C6 is the shade i will opt for the most, as it is a light/medium shade also with a yellow undertone and is a very similar shade to the Maybelline Fit Me shade 10. The amount of product you get in the tube is slightly smaller than most concealers, as you get just over 3ML of product. Something i really like about this concealer is the doe-foot applicator, as it is slightly bigger than usual concealers and you also get a good amount of product in one go, rather than having to go back in more than once. Even though the texture of the concealer is fairly thick it doesn't look or feel heavy/cake-y on the skin and the coverage is definitely on the medium/high side. Something that is definitely going to make me want to reach for this concealer on a regular basis, is the fact it lasted all day long and looked freshly applied/brighter longer than some of my other concealers do. The only con about this concealer is it does dry down to a matte finish quite quickly, so what i have been doing is applying and blending in sections rather than applying it everywhere i would and then blending out. Over all i would rate this a 4 (maybe 4.5) out of 5!

TOO FACED MELTED KISSES

Hey guys, i hope you are all having a great day whatever you are up to! So the other day whilst i was on Debenhams taking advantage of the sale as well as ordering some pieces from the MAC holiday collection which FYI is to die for, so gorgeous. Anyway back on track i happened to come across the too faced holiday gift sets and decided to go for the "melted kisses" gift set, as i have wanted to try their melted liquid lipsticks for a while now...

The set comes with 4 different slightly smaller than full size of their liquid lipsticks and the packaging is super cute and Christmassy, perfect for a little stocking filler or a gift on its self.

As you will be able to see below they are super pigmented and the colour pay off is so gorgeous, can you believe that is only one swipe?

I am super excited to start wearing these, i have been wearing "melted peony" on my lips today and i really like it as for me it's the perfect pink shade.

REVLON COLORSTAY MOISTURE STAIN

Hey guys, I hope you all had a great weekend! I am super excited about today's post, (i did have something else for today's post but i will now be posting that on another day) because i finally got my hands on the Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain's. I have been seeing American Bloggers/YouTuber's showing these new moisture stains and saying how amazing they are but i was unable to get my hands on them as they were only available in the states. About a month a go i read somewhere online that they were launching them in the UK around August time, so i have been counting down the days haha...

First of all lets talk about how nice this packaging is, it feels so sleek and very expensive in it's appearance considering it is a drugstore product. The applicator is a really nice doe-foot shape which makes it super easy to apply to your lips, a little like that L'Oreal glam lip glosses applicator. Second of all the colour pay off is second to none when you apply two coats and you are left with this gorgeous glossy opaque lip look. They are very similar to the YSL stains but obviously much more affordable. You can get your hands on these now available at Boots for £7.99 (Revlon also have a buy one get one half price at the moment in Boots). I can honestly see myself reaching for these on a daily basis already, i highly recommend trying them out.

As of yet i only picked up 4 of the shades available.
From Top-Bottom:
050 London Posh
025 Cannes Crush
010 LA Exclusive
005 Parisian Passion

As a little side note, how cute are these names? I am also always drawn to something that has a cute name to go with the product.

MAKEUP MONDAY: ESSENCE HAUL

Hey guys, i hope you all had a great weekend! So for a while now i have been noticing people posting pictures on social media of lots of makeup from the German makeup brand Essence and i thought to myself i wish they sold this in the UK. Then last week to my surprise i discovered that they have now launched in the UK at selected Wilkinson stores and my local store is one of them! Another thing that also impressed me is that all the products in the brand are super affordable with prices ranging from 99p to £3.99. So obviously after making this discovery i had to go and check out the stand, being honest i could of purchased the entire stand but i restrained myself and only bought a handful of products to try out before purchasing more. SPRING'14: FASHION PART ONE

If you loved the Netflix series "orange is the new black" then you are going to love this spring '14. Models have hit the catwalks of fashion week sporting bright orange shades. If you are not daring enough to go all out on a bright orange piece such as a dress you could just accessorize any outfit with a pop of orange. Here is a few of my favourite "orange" pieces available on the high street this spring...

My hot pick favourite: Limited edition aztec print skirt from River Island for a bargain £15.

Hope you are all having an amazing day and i will be back very soon with:

SPRING '14 MAKEUP

So winter is over in a few weeks and it is nearly time to switch into spring mode. A massive trend for this spring is purples and pinky shades, which is right up my street as purples suit my eye colour the best and really makes them pop as well as it being one of my favourite colours.

Above is a few of my favourite items perfect for spring time.

1. The Body Shop baked-to-last blush in 01 petal.
I love this blush it is super pigmented and you only need a small amount, i just like to take my blush brush, swirl it around and tap off the excess but you could also use the two colours separate if you wanted.
2. NYX diamond sparkle lipstick in DS sparkling satin.
This is a perfect pink shade lipstick for spring as it is not too bright or too pale and it has the right amount of sparkle to it, suitable for a wide range of different eye looks.
3. L'Oreal lumi magique highlighter pen in 1 light.
I have talked about this highlighter pen in numerous blog posts. It is without a doubt one of my favourite highlighters, really brightening and fresh looking.
4. NYX eye shadow in ES35 platinum pink.
I am really unsure why they named this eye shadow platinum pink because to me platinum is a really luminous shade of colours and this is a really neutral light pink shade but it looks stunning and really brightens up the eyes, making you look really awake and fresh looking.
5. NYX liquid crystal liner in LCL103 crystal pink.
This glitter liner is perfect for spring time, to me this glitter liner is more on the purple/lilac side rather than pink. I like to wear this in place of a blank winged liner look.

Also perfect for this spring is without a doubt is the MAC a fantasy of flowers collection. I literally can not wait to get my hands on some of this collection because it all just looks stunning. This collection is launching Feb/March all depending which parts of the world you are in.

The items i have my eye on the most are:

1. MAC lipstick in rose lily.
2. MAC mineralize skinfinish in stereo rose.
3. MAC cremesheen glass lipgloss in pagoda.
4. MAC lipstick in snapdragon.

Hope you are all having a great weekend whatever you are doing...

BH COSMETICS DAY & NIGHT PALETTE EYE-LOOK

As i said a few blog post's back i received a couple of eye shadow palettes as gifts for Christmas and that i would more than likely do a first impression on them. Since Christmas i have been really playing around with the "BHcosmetics day & night" palette and i am really loving it, the colours are super pigmented and blend very easily without a lot of fall out (which is always a winner). The palette contains 60 different eye shadows from nudes and browns to bright neon colours, so basically it is a very versatile palette and you could pretty much create any look using it. After looking up the palette online it is also very affordable for the quantity and quality of product you get.

BLOGMAS DAY TWENTY-THREE: FOTD MONDAY AND FIRST IMPRESSION

Even though it is Monday, for some reason there was no Monday morning blues. Today i have been a busy bee working and also sorting through my room having that annual pre-christmas clean out. Saying that though there was still time for makeup. So here is today's "Face of the Day" products and a first impression on two new products i purchased yesterday...

FOTD

1. MUA pro-brow eyebrow kit - this brow kit comes with three different colour shades, a light and dark blonde and a dark brown which is the colour i use.. the kit also comes with a brow setting gel.
2. BOURJOIS 123 perfect foundation - this was my first time trying this foundation today as i only purchased it yesterday as i had heard so many good reviews from it. i got mine in the colour Nó52Vanilla.
3. L'OREAL lumi magique pure light primer - this was also my first time using this primer, i thought i would give it a go as i love love love the rest of the lumi magique collection.
4. COLLECTION 16 hour lasting perfection concealer- my holy grail concealer, i don't have a bad word to say about this product. i have it in the shade 2Light.
5. L'OREAL lumi magique highlighter pen - yet again another lumi magique item but i am obsessed with this one and i use it everyday. i have it in the shade 1Light.
6. L'OREAL nude magique bb powder - surprise surprise yet another L'Oreal product, i just can't help it but this has taken over my holy grail powder Rimmel Stay Matte. i have this in the shade light/medium.
7. URBAN DECAY original eye shadow primer potion - favourite eye primer never creases, yet again another new holy grail product.
8. URBAN DECAY naked basics palette - i love this palette for simple everyday makeup. shades in the palette are L-R: venus, foxy, w.o.s, naked2, faint and crave.
9. L'OREAL mega volume black smoke mascara- this is my go to mascara at the moment. this mascara doesn't just give my lashes volume it lengthens them even though it just says volume mascara.
10. NYX eye kohl pencil - just an everyday black kohl liner, the think i love about this is that it doesn't smudge on me like a lot of other kohl pencils do.
11. NARS highlighter powder- this was in my recent haul blog post, i am so glad i finally decided to purchase this. the shade is called Albatross. definitely worth the hype.
12. NEW CID COSMETICS lip gloss- another item from my recent haul blog post. the really cool thing about this lip gloss is the fact it has a mirror on the tube and also when you open the gloss it has a built in light which is really handy. i love the shade, it's a perfect pretty nude shimmer gloss ( i-gloss in Romance). the only thing i dislike about the product is the shape of the applicator.

(I also used my usual Topshop sandcastle bronzer to contour, but i forgot to photograph it).

FIRST IMPRESSION.

 1. BOURJOIS 123 perfect - contains 3 correcting pigments zero imprerfections. yellow pigments for anti-dark circles, mauve pigments for anti-dull complexion and green pigments for anti-redness.
I purchased this foundation in the shade Nó52 Vanilla and it is a perfect match to my skin tone at the moment. My first impressions of this foundation is that even though it's a full coverage foundation it doesn't feel almost cake like on the skin, it still feels light. The consistency is fairly thin but not as thin as my usual L'Oreal nude magique foundation. The foundation has lasted well on my skin all day and hasn't become shiny to say that it states it is a hydrating foundation, which can cause you to become shiny and oily looking during the day. I am really impressed with this foundation and i think it will become my new everyday go to foundation.
£10.99 - Boots.

2. L'OREAL nude magique - pure light primer. My first impression on this primer is that it isn't a thick consistency which i like, i also like that the primer has a shiny glow to it when you apply it. I am all about the glowing skin. I honestly don't know why i haven't tried this sooner. I have also found in the past that the majority of primers have an unpleasant scent to them but this one has very little scent to it.
£9.99 - Boots.

Hope you are all having a lovely day and Merry Christmas Eve Eve...
