EVERYDAY GLOW-Y SPRING MAKEUP: DRUGSTORE EDITION

Hello everyone! I mentioned in my previous post about how excited i was for this month, mainly because it is finally going to be spring and hopefully better weather is on its way very soon. With that in mind as well as preparing my wardrobe for spring, i also wanted to give my everyday makeup a switch up too. I had touched on it in a previous post how i had been on makeup buying ban, as i really didn't need anymore makeup but i did want to add a few new things just to switch things up. So i ended up placing an order on Superdrug to try some new drugstore pieces and i have ended up loving how my everyday makeup has been looking recently...

1. MUA pro base primer oil | click to buy |
So first up is this primer oil by MUA that i have been using every single day before i apply my makeup since towards the end of January, it is also one of the products that i mentioned in my february must-buys post. I love using facial oil's for hydration before applying my makeup, as i just feel like my makeup applies/lasts so much longer when i do and to say this product is just £4 i feel like it is just as good if not better than some higher end products that i have tried in the past.

2. maybelline dream satin liquid foundation | click to buy |
When i first spotted this foundation on the Superdrug website i was little confused, as i feel like this was a foundation that already existed or have they just re-branded the product? Anyway i decided to pick one up and give it a try, as i love Maybelline foundations, as you will already know if you have read my posts in the past because the Fit Me foundation is my go-to. What i love about this foundation is how much like skin your face still looks once it has been applied, yet it still has really good coverage and it leaves you with this beautiful yet natural radiant look.

3. barry M all night long concealer | click to buy |
I had seen a fair few people talking about this concealer by barry M and i have tried/loved one of their concealers in the past, so naturally i was intrigued to give it a try. The coverage of this concealer for such an affordable price is so good and it ticks all of the boxes, coverage wise, lightweight feeling, long lasting and brightening.

4. MUA luxe bronze & sculpt contour kit | click to buy |
So this product isn't a new-in product to my collection, it is one that i have loved for a while and it is that perfect spring/summer bronze shade, you know the kind that looks perfect with a tan. This product is one of those great travel friendly items to have in your collection as it contains both a bronzer and highlighter but i do generally just reach for the bronzer shade.

5. revolution jewel collection jelly highlighter |click to buy |
Back to something that is newer to my collection and one that i wasn't sure whether i was going to like it or not, but once again i was left feeling shocked at how beautiful it was. This highlighter by Revolution is a jelly like consistency and it isn't the kind of highlighter i would usually opt for, as i am such a powder or cream kind of girl. That being said i love how easy this product was to apply and blend out, leaving my skin glowing yet it still looked super natural and fresh. Once the product is blended in, it actually reminded me of my favourite bareMinerals highlighter and that is a cream to powder highlight.

6. revolution opulence highlight | click to buy |
This particular highlighter is one that i had wanted to try for a while but as i was on a makeup spending ban, i never picked it up. That being said i am so glad i finally did as it is the most beautiful powder highlighter, that the shades can be used individually or all together. Recently i have been reaching for one of the two highlighters, all depending on which one i feel like using that day but what i do love using the lightest shade in this compact to highlight my inner corner of my eyes with.

7. revolution pro microblading precision brow pencil | click to buy |
Is is just me or does anyone else feel like Revolution are killing the drugstore makeup game once again? I been obsessing over this brow pencil, which is so strange as i am such a pomade girl but i must admit i love how this leaves my brows looking. As the product suggests you can be super precise with this pencil with your brows, so much so it actually reminds me of the Benefit precisely by brow pencil but super affordable of course.

8. MUA amplify statement lash mascara | click to buy |
The only product that i haven't switched up is my mascara as i am still really enjoying using this one, which is by MUA once again.  I love how this mascara separates your lashes, leaving them looking full, long and clump free. For everyday makeup looks, i will just apply mascara to my top lashes only as i actually prefer the way that looks now.

9. maybelline color sensational creamy mattes lipstick | click to buy |
Finally for lips i love this Maybelline matte lipstick shade for spring, as it is the most beautiful light peachy-pink beige shade that is perfect for everyday wear. This is a matte finish lipstick but it isn't overly drying that some matte bullet lipstick can be, but if you do want to add a little gloss you can do easily as it goes with pretty much any gloss.

CURRENT WISHLIST: NEW-IN PALETTES

Hello everyone! It has been a few months now since i last shared all of the new-in makeup/beauty products that i am currently lusting after, so i thought it was about time i gave you all an update (but one with a twist). It has been so long since a new-in palette really caught my eye and recently it seems as if everyone is launching new palettes, that are getting my attention and of course i couldn't not share...

First up is this gorgeous warm neutrals palette by Huda Beauty, which to me screams the perfect travel eyeshadow palette as it is filled with so many different shades to create so many different looks with. The palette has the perfect mixture of matte and duo-chrome shimmers, all vibrant in colour and for a higher end palette, i think £25 is actually not a bad price point for the amount of shadows/the quality of the shadows you are getting.

I love a good Too Faced eyeshadow palette and i have so many in my makeup collection already, but the brand always seems to get my attention when releasing a new palette (especially during the holiday season). The new gingerbread spice palette is yet another palette filled with my kind of shades, as well as a couple of wild cards thrown in there. I literally can not wait to get my hands on this palette, as if it is anything like their other palettes it is going to have a beautiful scent to it and gingerbread is up there as one of my favourites.

One thing that i love about NYX as a brand, is the fact that the texture of their powders are always simply beautiful and like no other. That being said there is no wonder i am drawn to this highlighter duo, firstly because i love and hoard highlighters and second of all because the texture of highlighters are highly pigmented yet silky soft/smooth. You can pick these limited edition highlighter palettes up in three different shades, but my personal favourite is the shade grind.

Oh my, oh my, Urban Decay have done it again by bringing out yet another stunning naked palette, this time filled with warm cherry/purple tones. This isn't a palette i would reach for on an everyday basis unlike i do with the naked heat palette, that being said i still love reaching for these shades from time to time. Even though these particular palettes are in a specific colour scheme like post palettes, you can still create a wide variety of looks.

Revolution and the Revolution Pro range are definitely one of my favourite affordable brands, mainly because of their high end quality but low end prices. When i spotted this collaboration palette in the new-in section i was drawn to how the over-all product looked, from its super travel friendly packaging to its shade ranges/tones. Revolution have a bunch of super affordable eyeshadow palettes which i highly recommend, including an all new eyeshadow palette as part of the same collaboration.

I have tried a handful of products from L.A Girl in the past and a few of them i still reach for time and time again, especially their HD/PRO foundation and concealer. I recently spotted this in the new-in section on BeautyBay and it left me thinking, surely this product is going to be as good as the foundation/concealer. The great thing about this highlight/contour duo is not only the fantastic price, at just £6 but also the fact that it is available in seven shades and can also be picked up in cream form as well as powder.

NEW-IN | BEAUTY WISHLIST

Hello everyone! So towards the end of last month i shared a similar style of post to today's instalment, only last month's post was about all things makeup wishlist/base makeup i want to try. That being said for this month's beauty wishlist post, i thought i would share with you the list of new-in beauty products that i am finding myself lusting after from high-end to affordable/drugstore...

I actually picked up the previous "YouTuber" limited edition MAC lipstick by Fleur DeForce, which was a stunning brown-ish nude shade but the latest limited edition release by one of my favourite YouTuber's is something else as it is literally my perfect nude shade in a tube. MAC lipsticks, more specifically MAC's nude lipstick are definitely some of my favourite lipsticks of all time so naturally i am going to need this in my life.

2. morphe continuous setting spray | £15 | currently join the waitlist |
Seeing as Morphe has disappeared from BeautyBay, it is now making a comeback to Cult Beauty which i can't wait for it to do so. Before hand i really wanted to give this setting spray a try, as it is perfect for setting/leaving your skin with a natural/even finish because of its continuous spray pump. Morphe products are re-launching soon!

Revolution are back at it again with the beautiful packaging as part of their new look products/packaging, especially this beautiful almost baked multi-coloured highlighting compact. I love how the packaging is super sleek, expensive looking yet obviously affordable and of course if it is anything like the formula of the other highlighters it will have a butter-y pigmented texture. These types of powders are great for using either all together or separately.

Another Revolution new-in product similar to the highlighting compact this time in blush form, which really reminds me of some of the Soap & Glory powders from way back when. If i am being completely honest i fall in and out of love when it comes to blushes, so i haven't picked one up for a while as i tend to reach for the same ones. I also believe Revolution have released an eyeshadow compact in a similar concept.

The final Revolution product of the post i swear, but i am just lusting after so many different new-in launches from the brand at the moment. This multi-usage illuminator from the Revolution Pro range has really caught my eye, especially the shade famous as i feel like it would look stunning as a lip-gloss topper. These illuminators can be used on the eyes, lips and face.

Facial oils especially super hydrating facial oils are one of my favourite types of skincare products, which i have mentioned in many a post previously and i am always looking for new ones to try out. This one by Estée Lauder recently caught my eye on the new-in section at Debenhams and i straight away thought, that is for me but the only thing that isn't for me is the price because it is super expensive at £48 for just 30ml!

7. garnier eye sheet mask | £1.99 |
Moving onto a skincare item that is definitely a lot more affordable, which is these new-in eye sheet masks by Garnier. I use the face sheet masks every single week, so of course i was going to be intrigued about giving the eye masks a try if they were launched. You can pick these up in two different formulations, one is the hyaluronic acid and orange and the other is hyaluronic and coconut. I also believe Garnier has also released a new range of the facial sheet masks also, which i will also pick some up of the next time i am in Superdrug.

Finally we have a nail polish from the latest shine collection by OPI, which is the most beautiful pale cool-ish toned nude polish. I haven't really picked up any new nail polishes for a while, so i think i might treat myself to a new one as i have been reaching for the same ones in my current collection over and over. OPI nail polishes are a little more price-y than your average nail polish but the quality/the length they stay chip-free for is worth it!

THINGS I'M LOVING FROM SUPERDRUG RIGHT NOW

Hello everyone! So i actually feel like it has been a hot minute since i last picked up any new makeup apart from the essentials, as i have been trying to cut back on the amount i buy because i literally have so much and it just starts to feel like a waste (if the me four years ago could hear me say this, she would probably laugh at this me). That being said i did recently pick up a couple of new makeup bits from Superdrug, as i was placing an order for some everyday essentials and i thought why not share the things i am loving from Superdrug right now...

So of course my intentions wasn't to buy any more highlighters because lets face it have so many already, that being said i simply couldn't not pick this one up after seeing it on Instagram. To say that this product is only £6 is insane, as it is extremely pigmented yet silky smooth and not at all powdery like some affordable highlighters can be. This highlighter comes as a duo with a pink-y highlight shade and then more of a light golden shade, which i have to say is my personal favourite from the palette. The packaging is also super cute, as it looks like a melting metallic chocolate bar.

If you read my recent july must-buys post then you will have already seen that i had actually ordered one of these new releases by L'Oréal in the shade Sweet Tooth. I have not fallen in love with a new liquid lipstick for so long now, but i am head over heels over this one and i just can't stop wearing it now. The shade Sweet Tooth is the most perfect light almost peach-y/beige nude colour, which is one of my favourites to wear. The formula of these liquid lipsticks are also super comfortable to wear, lightweight feeling and they also smell so dreamy just like warm chocolate smells.

I have actually mentioned this nail polish so many times in blog posts over the years, as it is a firm favourite of mine. That being said my current bottle had completely ran out and i was yet to pick another one up, so i had been reaching for other nail polishes...until my sister actually picked me one for as one of my many birthday presents and now i can't stop wearing it again and for me it is the perfect nude nail polish colour.

When it comes to brows for the past few months i have been using the revolution brow tint, which you paint on and leave for a couple of hours before peeling off leaving you with perfect filled in brows. That being said as it does fade after a few days, you do need to touch your brows up when filling them in and i had completely ran out of my beloved Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pomade. Seeing as i don't reach for it everyday now, i thought i would pick up a more affordable product which does the same job and this one is pretty much exactly the same (except for the price difference obviously).

Finally i have actually been reaching for this which i picked up whilst placing that Superdrug order, as i wan't something as a top up in-between tan product. If you watch Love Island, then you will see this range of products from Superdrug being shown a lot as they are the Sponsors again this year. I had also seen a few people saying how they couldn't believe how good this product was for the price, which i completely agree with. It doesn't have that horrible "biscuit-y" scent, it smells really nice and it is super moisturising.

DRIPPING IN GOLD | MY THREE GO-TO GOLDEN GLOW HIGHLIGHTERS

Hello everyone! So through-out my blogging years i have done many a series talking about my "three go-to" items from lip liners, to travel palettes and blushes. With that in mind i thought seeing as i hadn't done one in a hot minute, why not give you all an update on the three highlighters which are my go-to's at the moment. I am such a highlighter hoarder, just as much if not more than nude lip products and i reach for so many on a regular basis, but that being said just recently i have been reaching/switching between these three particular ones...

So this particular highlighter can be picked up in three different shades but my personal favourite/the shade that i reach for all the time, is the ever so talked about about Gilded Honey. The formula of this highlighter is basically in the title as it is super silky soft/creamy just like gelato is, this highlighter is also super pigmented leaving you with a fresh looking golden glow all day long. I love highlighting powders that are super finely milled or baked, as they always tend to apply flawlessly and this one does just that. The only thing that annoys me about this product is that to me (and i know others have said this to), you feel as if the packaging lets the product down because it is quite cheap looking for its high-end price tag.

This is a highlighter that i actually mentioned in last months beauty favourites post, which is available in two different shades Molten Gold and Molten Bronze but personally for my skin-tone/personal preference is the Molten Gold shade. I actually think that the formula of this highlighter and the Laura Geller highlighter are super similar, but this one is slightly more pigmented as it has more of a glittery tone to it rather than being baked. Drugstore highlighters can be a hit or miss thing but this particular one is a must-try, along side the next highlighter i am currently obsessed with.

Finally we have a trio of highlight shades in palette form, which comes in three different shades Gold, Ice and Metals but of course the one i have is the Gold palette. The pigmentation on these highlighters are absolutely insane, especially as these palettes only retail for £6 each...Yes £6! The formula/texture of these highlighters are also super silky soft/lightweight feeling, but as they are insanely pigmented a little goes a long way. I also love how the palette comes with three different gold tones, a Champagne shade, a Gold glittery shade and also a Rose Gold shade. Personally i mainly reach for the Gold and Rose Gold shade, somethings mixing a little bit or layering both shades together.

REVOLUTION PRO CAMOUFLAGE FOUNDATION + CONCEALER | FIRST IMPRESSION

Hello everyone! So last week i shared another first impression/review post on the L'Oréal infallible pro-glow foundation, as it is finally available in the UK exclusively to Amazon (review post linkand in that post i mentioned how i wondered what new foundation was going to be. That being said Makeup Revolution now just Revolution, have launched a new collection of Revolution Pro products with everything from eyeshadow palettes to lip products and of course foundations and concealers. With that in mind i just had to pick up the foundation/concealer to put it to the test and if i am being honest i have mixed feelings...

So the foundation and concealer duo i am talking about is the full cover camouflage from Revolution Pro, which claims to be a highly pigmented and creamy pro full cover camouflage that creates maximum coverage with an even, natural looking finish. The full cover camouflage products claim to be able to conceal blemishes, scars, birthmarks, veins and also temporally disguise tattoos. Just like the Fast Base Foundation Stick and the Conceal and Define Concealer, this one is also available in 18 different shades (F1-F18 and C1-C18). With the numbers being the same i decided to pick up the same shades as i did for those two products, which were F8 for the foundation and C6 for the concealer. The full cover camouflage foundation retails at £7 for 25ml, then the concealer retails at £5 for 8.5ml and they both come in squeeze-y tube form.

Moving onto my first impressions on both the foundation and concealer, which funny enough i have two different opinions on. The consistency of the foundation isn't as thick as i thought it was going to be, with it being a "camouflage"product as they tend to always be thick in consistency. I applied the foundation in the way that i always would by simply dotting some product all over my face before blending out with my damp beauty blender, my first thoughts once it was all blended out was how yes it was super full coverage but it almost made my face look completely 2D and not like skin anymore but the finish wasn't completely matte. I also found that whilst it was on my face during the day, it did feel like i was wearing foundation and if i wear something like the Maybelline Fit Me or even the Fast Base Stick i don't feel like i am wearing foundation when i actually am. Moving onto the concealer and something i had seen a couple of people say how it was slightly tacky feeling, but for me that actually worked quite well and it didn't dry into any fine lines or crease. The concealer is also a lot lighter feeling on the skin and not quite as full coverage as the foundation, the consistency actually reminded me a little of the MAC pro longwear concealer but just with slightly less coverage. I definitely have to say so far i do prefer both of the other foundation/concealers that launched earlier but i still want to try different ways of using the foundation again, to see if i can make it work to suit me better. So watch out for how i get on with that ha!
