AMAZON'S CHOICE MUST-TRY BEAUTY PRODUCTS

Hello everyone! So Amazon is that place you can go to and pretty much find anything/everything, from books/dvd's, homeware, DIY, electronic products and of course beauty products. Amazon have a bunch of different makeup/beauty items which are sold directly from them and not other seller's, so you know you aren't going to be getting someone's already opened or over-priced unwanted purchases. Amazon also have a wide range of "Amazon's Choice" products, which are all products that come highly recommended. With that in mind for today's post i thought i would share with you a selection of my personal favourite must-try beauty products, that are available under Amazon's Choice with free delivery on orders over £20 and selected subscribe and save items...

So first up we have one of my favourite foundations of the year, which is in-fact an Amazon exclusive in the UK and it is the only official site that stocks the product. I did a first impression/review post which you can find all about the foundation in detail here.

Sticking with the foundation theme and another favourite of mine, this time my all time favourite foundation. I always used to pick mine up from either Boots or Superdrug, but that was until i realised it was well over £1 cheaper on Amazon...so now i bulk buy and i always have some in stock!

sleek makeup highlighting palette

If you are an avid YouTube watcher, then you will probably already know how these Sleek highlighter palettes are always highly spoken about. Not only do they have super luxurious metal packaging, they are also super pigmented and come with a mixture or super lightweight powder and cream highlighters.

So Amazon's choice for nail polish is also a huge favourite of mine and i always opt for these colours when i am not in the mood to wait for over an hour for my polish to dry, as they are the only "quick dry" polishes that i actually think work as they say they should. Not only are they quick to apply, they are super affordable, come in a wide shade range and are long-lasting without chipping. My personal favourite is the shade Let's Get Nude.

l'Oréal sublime bronze self-tan summer glow lotion

I am one of those people that much prefers to opt for gradual tan lotions when it comes to my tanning routine, as it is super easy and quick to do. I definitely have tried my fair share of gradual tan from different brands and this one is definitely in my top three, along side the st moriz gradual tan which you can also pick up on Amazon.

I am obsessed with anything with a coconut fragrance and i have used this particular leave-in conditioner summer after summer, as it not only helps keep frizz at bay but it also leaves your hair smelling like summer holiday's. Leave-in conditioners are perfect if you are in a rush, or if you simply struggle with tangled hair once you have washed it. You can also pick up other item's from the range, as well as other drugstore brands.

This particular Amazon's choice selection is not only an accurate choice but also a complete bargain, as they stock a two pack of the sponge for just £6.66 rather than £10.99 or more. I use this sponge pretty much every time i do my makeup and i couldn't be without it, as you get a flawless and even finish. 

prodigueux by Nuxe Shower Oil with Golden Shimmer

So for the final item that is definitely more of a splurge but definitely a must-try product, is this shower gel from Nuxe. My go-to facial oil is the multi dry oil from the brand, which i use every single day both morning and night. That being said i had only tried that one thing from the brand and wanted to give something else a try. This shower oil has the same scent as the oil, that leaves you with a slight golden shimmer but nothing too major and is perfect for summer. The fact that you can also pick up higher end brands from Amazon, makes ordering so much easier.

MAY MUST-TRY'S | MAKEUP I WANT TO TRY THIS MONTH

Hello everyone! So last week just like at the beginning of every month i like to share my must-buy items for the month, which usually contains a couple of beauty related items. That being said this month there is quite a lot of beauty products (mainly makeup) that are on my must-try list, so rather than cramming everything into one post i thought i would split things up and share the makeup bits separately. If you didn't catch the clothing, homeware and accessories post, then you can catch up on that here...

1. becca glow gloss in the shade champagne | £22 |

So i went through a stage where i completely went off gloss and glossy lips but now i am completely obsessed with the way it looks now, it also always seems to finish a nude lip off perfectly. When it comes to gloss i love almost gold-like finish glosses in fact Gilded by ABH is one of my favourites but it is almost finished and this Becca gloss looks almost identical, so it would be good to switch things up/compare the two products.

2. st.tropez tinted everyday moisturiser + primer | was £18 now £12 |

Fun fact i never fake tan my face i would much rather just match it up when i pop on foundation, to save on getting blocked pores or breakouts. That being said i thought maybe trying a tan tinted moisturiser would be a good option for those warm summer days, when i don't necessarily want to wear foundation but i still want my face to match my body. 

3. cover fx gold bar palette | £34 |

It is no secret that i am a complete highlighter hoarder and i have so many favourites, yet i still always have room for more and i have a feeling this is going to be the next one on my list. Cover FX already have a stunning range of custom highlighter drops, so of course this highlighter palette is bound to be up to those standards and i especially have my eye on the very first shade on the left of the palette, as it looks stunning!

4. sleek makeup copperplate highlighting palette | £9.99 |

Sticking with the highlighter palette theme, this palette i came across all google-y eyed over when i was browsing the Boots website for a face tan (which i mentioned above). I already have the other two highlighting palettes like this from Sleek but i never knew they released a third, which looks as equally as beautiful as the others and you can bet next time i pop into a Boots store i will be picking one of these up.

5. bareMinerals gen nude matte liquid lip colour | £17 |

I already have a couple of these matte liquid lipsticks from the Gen Nude range by bareMinerals, which i am obsessed with and reach for all the time because the quality along with the lasting power of the liquid lipsticks is so good. That being said i really want to pick up a couple more shades, especially the shade Smooch (faded lilac nude) and the shade Wink (perfect pink nude).

6. la girl pro matte hd longwear matte foundation | £10 |

Finally even though i am a glow-y skin kind of girl, one of my favourite foundations is the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless and i have heard this foundation kind of has a similar vibe about it. So many people have been talking about how good this foundation is, so now that we can get it in the UK i will definitely be giving it a go. I already have the other LA Girl HD foundation in my collection, which i love so i definitely think i will more than likely end up loving this one too and £10 is such a good price.

BUDGET BEAUTY WEEK: THE BUDGET FOUNDATION/CONCEALER I WANT TO TRY

Hello everyone and welcome to another instalment of "budget beauty" week! As i mentioned in yesterdays post, being the complete makeup addict/collector and hoarder that i am, i am always looking at new and existing makeup and lusting after so many things. I always like to share the particular things in posts that i am lusting after, so with that in mind i thought why not switch things up and rather than just do your standard "wishlist post" i thought i would share the budget foundations/concealers i want to try. For me the most important stages of makeup is foundation and concealer, because without the perfect base there is pretty much no point and i am always looking for new contenders to overtake my love for the fit me combination by Maybelline.

1. wet n wild photo focus concealer

If you are from the UK like i am, then you will probably know it is super difficult to get your hands on wet n wild products. That being said i have seen so many US bloggers/vloggers talk about how amazing this concealer is and how it is super similar to the maybelline fit me concealer and also the nars radiant creamy concealer, which are also two of my favourite concealers. This concealer retails for the bargain price of $3.99, which is around £3 and it is available in 6 different shades. 

2. l'oréal infallible pro-glow foundation

Another product this time a foundation, that is currently not available in the UK (dear l'oréal please hurry up and launch already) and another product that is also talked so highly of/looks absolutely beautiful on everyone i have seen it on. I am a huge fan of l'oréal base products in general, so i am pretty sure i will be obsessed with this and even more so as i am obsessed with anything to give me a glow. This foundation retails for $12.99, which is around the £10 mark and is available in 12 different shades.

3. wet n wild photo focus foundation

To follow up with the photo focus concealer, i also want to try the foundation from the same range. I have seen a couple of these foundations for sale on amazon but the sellers have placed them on there for such ridiculous prices, considering the foundation only retails for $5.99 so around £4.50. I have seen a lot of reviews stating that this concealer is similar in ways to the estée lauder double-wear foundation, yet a lot more comfortable to wear.

4. kiko dark circle concealer

This concealer to me seems to be a similar concept and a much more affordable version of the pro longwear concealer by mac, although it seems the texture of this concealer is a little more lightweight (which is probably a bonus). This concealer retails for £8.90 in-store and online at kiko and is available in 8 different shades.  

5. maybelline superstay 24h foundation

Ok so i have tried pretty much every single maybelline foundation, but i don't think i have ever tried this particular one. I am not 100% sure whether they have recently just changed the packaging or whether they have re-formulated the foundation also, but once i figure out what shade i need i will definitely put it to the test. This foundation retails for £9.99 and is available in 12 different shades. 

6. sleek corrector and concealer palette

Something that always comes in handy from time to time is a heavy duty concealer palette, with more of a cream like texture and i am looking to give a new one a go. I have tried a wide range of sleek products out before but never their face/base products. This concealer palette retails for £7.99 and is available in 3 different shades.

7. nyx total control drop foundation

This foundation has had so many different reviews from good ones and bad ones, that being said this still makes me want to give one a try. Although the thing i am most unsure about is what shade to go for, as a selection of them look super similar and not so different but then there is the small part where people have said it does oxidize slightly. This foundation retails for £14 and is available in 24 different shades. 

8. l'oréal true match concealer

Finally l'oréal re-launched their true match foundation and now they have re-launched their concealer as well, so of course i need to give this a go again. This time around they have so many more shades of a wide variety, that can be used for multiple purposes. This concealer retails for £7.99 and is available in 14 shades, which is super rare when it comes to concealers.

MID-2017 MOST READ POSTS

Hello everyone! So now that we are saying hello to June/half way through the year, i thought i would do something different and put together a selection of my most read posts from the year so far. I did something a little similar last year in the middle of the year, but in the form of a mid 2016 favourites post. I just thought doing this would be a great way of sharing some posts with those who didn't catch them the first time round.

my go-to nude polishes (friday 13th january)

So first up back in January i shared my go-to nude nail polishes, which if you have read my posts for a while you will already know i am not only obsessed with nude lip products but also nude nail polishes are also a favourite of mine. Even now six months later all of these polishes are still on my list of go-to shades, including the barry m gelly nail paint in the shade peanut butter.

current beauty wishlist: the skincare edition (monday 13th march)

This particular post was a two part post and the first part at the time was my current beauty wishlist: the makeup edition. This is the particular post where i mentioned how i had become more interested in skincare on the same level as i was makeup, so with that being said there was quite a few products i wanted to give a go. Since this post i have tried out a few on the wishlist, such as the nuxe multi-usage dry oil, the bareMinerals eternalixir oil serum and the manuka doctor gold dust serum.  

my three go-to travel friendly highlight palettes (friday 17th march)

So during the month of march and april, i did a series of posts all about some of my "three go-to" products, which included my three go-to travel friendly highlight palettes, my three go-to nude lip liners, my three go-to blushes and my three go-to concealers. All of these posts proved to be really popular, which makes me so happy and knowing it was worth all of the hard work and effort. Also from the month of march and another most read post, all about pick n mix beauty from the feel unique sample service.

favourite candles: spring edition (monday 10th april)

So towards the back end of last year and this year, i have been trying to share a lot more lifestyle style of posts rather than just beauty. Quite a few of the lifestyle posts i have blogged about have also proved to be popular but this particular post all about my favourite spring time candles, is definitely in the lead. I am a complete candle addict, so i am glad there is others out there that share my same addiction. I am also thinking of doing a summer edition of the post very soon, so stay tuned for that. 

updated go-to crease/transition shadows (wednesday 24th may)

Finally we have a post that has only been live for a week and it seemed to become popular really quickly, which really took me by surprise. Transitional shadow shades are something that i always like to read up on/watch videos on, so maybe other beauty addicts do too? I just feel like they are super handy for simple makeup looks, or to help blend/tie everything together a lot easier. UPDATED GO-TO CREASE/TRANSITION SHADOWS

Hello everyone! Usually the key base to any eye-look is to start off with a neutral shade in the crease of your eye, as a transition shade in order for anything to blend seamlessly and for everything to tie together. At the back end of last year i shared a post talking about my current favourite go-to crease/transition shades and since then i have found myself reaching for a few different ones, as well as my holy grail go-to's.

This particular palette is a favourite of mine as a whole but the shade puree definitely has to be my favourite, for both a transition shade and all over quick eyeshadow look. This is the perfect warm toned neutral shade, quite similar to another favourite crease shade of mine but probably a touch deeper in colour. I have always been a fan of too faced eyeshadows, for their pigmentation, the way they blend and of course the famous scents. Another favourite crease shade of mine from too faced, is in the chocolate bar palette and that is the shade salted caramel. This palette is a spring/summer go-to of mine and retails for £39.

So i think this particular item was limited edition from the holiday's but i picked this palette duo up from beautybay months ago, it comes with two palettes one eye palette and one cheek palette. If i am being honest i don't love the eyeshadow palette but i am obsessed with the cheek palette, which i use the bronzer shade called trance as a crease/transition shade. The reason being is i actually love using bronzers in the crease, as they always tend to be that perfect shade and great for if you are in a rush. As this palette is limited edition, there is a similar type of palette on beautybay from l.a girl which is a bargain £8.

This particular shadow is discontinued from mac but it is one of my favourites, as i mentioned in my previous crease/transition post. This shadow is the perfect in-between tones shade, as it isn't too warm or too cool and i think the shade wedge is quite similar in colour. This particular shade kid is a veluxe matte finish and wedge is just a pro matte shade. MAC eyeshadows retail for £10 pro form or £13.50 in pot form.

So i first bought this blush because i thought how beautiful it looked online, but when it came in the mail it looked nothing like the picture but it all turned out good in the end, as a transition shade anyway. That is the beauty of makeup as products can be used in a multi-purpose way, this shade suede is the most stunning peachy/suede like colour great for a light wash in the crease, but not so great on the cheeks for me personally. This is very similar to peach smoothie from makeup geek but maybe just a tone or two warmer/deeper and is a similar price, for a lot more product as these sleek blushes only retail for £4.99.

Finally and whilst on the subject of makeup geek eyeshadows, which are such good reliable shadows to reach for when you are stuck for what to go for in an eye-look, mainly because that is what my z-palette is made up with. My two go-to transitional shades are peach smoothie as i mentioned above and also the shade créme brulée, all depending on what type of look i am going for i will reach for one of these two. I just love how super soft, effortless to blend and pigmented the shadows are and not mention super easy to travel with. These particular shadows come in tons of different tones/finishes and retail for £4.95 per shadow.

SPRING MAKEUP SWITCH UP: CREAM GLOW

Hello everyone! So now that we are firmly into spring, we can officially transition our makeup routines to fit in with the "slightly" warmer weather. Just recently i have been really enjoying using cream highlighters in my everyday makeup and setting it with a powder highlight, to add something a little extra glow-y for the time of year. With that in mind i thought why not share with you a selection of my personal favourite cream based highlighters, that i love reaching for from my collection.

If you are all about that subtle/natural glow, maybe in general or as part of a "no makeup" makeup look, then this particular cream based highlighter is perfect for that. MAC stock a wide range of different shades in this product, but the shade pearl is a favourite of mine as it is the most beautiful sheer pale gold with a slight icy-like shimmer to it. To achieve a more intense look with this product i like to apply the extra dimension skinfinish in the shade doublegleam with a fan brush, as they compliment each other well.

If you don't really want to splash the cash on the MAC cream colour base, then this strobe balm from Makeup Revolution is almost identical and it is only £5. The only difference i would say there was between the two products is that the strobe balm is slightly easier to work with, as it is more of thinner "balm" consistency.

Last year these particular palettes from Sleek were well talked about in the beauty community on social media, especially the solstice palette. That being said my favourite for the cream shades is the precious metals palette, as it contains three stunning easy to work with cream shades. Unlike the two products above, these are definitely more of a blinding highlight. Last year i did a full haul/review post on the palettes here.

If cream highlight isn't really the type of product for you, then another alternative is more of a liquid consistency highlight like the strobe liquid from maybelline. The shade medium is my favourite, as it is the most stunning nude/bronze shade and we all know they are my kind of tones. As this product is a liquid highlight you can even add a tiny amount to your foundation, rather than just applying it to the high points of your face.

These particular creme highlighter pens from estée lauder were a favourite of mine last summer, so much so i had to pick up all three shades. They are such a fuss free/easy to use product, with a twist up to use concept and an applicator similar to the maybelline age rewind concealer, where it does most of the blending out as your apply. This particular shade is my favourite from the three, as it is the most beautiful golden/bronze shade.

As i had picked the shade medium in the strobe liquid, i decided to pick up the shade light in the strobing stick as i bought both products at the same time. As this is a strobing stick and not a liquid, it is more of a thick cream-like consistency that can be applied either straight to the face and blended out with a beauty blender, or simply rub some products onto your finger and pat into the skin, which happens to be my favourite way.
