THINGS TO DO TO FEEL AUTUMNAL

Hello everyone! For today's post i am back with another autumnal inspired post, more specifically to help anyone who is yet to get into that autumnal spirit. I am such a summer kind of girl, but i am also a sucker for this time of year and anything/everything autumn inspired from the scents to food/drinks and decor. With that in mind here is thirty things to do to help you feel autumnal this October...

1. light/buy your favourite autumn scented candles

2. dig out your favourite cosy jumpers/knitwear or treat yourself to something new

3. switch out your summer nude lipstick for a warm brown nude

4. go for a walk in the park or a forest through crisp autumn leaves

5. switch your instagram theme from summer to autumn/winter photographs

6. do some halloween/autumnal diy

7. give yourself a manicure, painting your nails in a deep red/plum shade

8. pick up a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks

Not everyone loves PSL but you never know until you try it, i personally love them

9. make pumpkin/butternut squash soup

10. create a seasonal display on your fireplace

11. invest in a pair of thick cosy soaks, primark have some amazing pairs

12. diy or buy an autumnal flower/leaves wreath

13. donate some food/tins to your local church for harvest festival

14. switch out your regular tea for chai tea

15. make roasted veggies as a side dish for your dinner

16. shop around for a new winter coat or jacket

17. buy some halloween themed sweeties or food for guests/yourself

18. buy a pumpkin/pumpkins

19. carve one of the pumpkins you bought

20. watch some of your favourite autumnal/halloween movies

21. look out for the sunrise at this time of year, they are simply beautiful

22. go to an Oktoberfest event

23. visit an around the world market local to you

24. take a weekend away somewhere

25. bake some halloween treats or pumpkin bread

26. take a trip to a country estate or village in the countryside

27. add cinnamon to your regular porridge oats to make it seasonal

28. dig out a berry/vamp-y lip colour from time to time

29. go out for a Sunday roast to your favourite village pub

30. celebrate halloween

EIGHT THINGS I'M LOVING ON ASOS RIGHT NOW

Hello everyone and Happy October! Seeing as we are officially entering cold weather season, i have been searching for some key autumn/winter pieces for my wardrobe and of course one of the places i always head straight to is ASOS. A few months back i first did a "things i'm loving on ASOS right now" post, which you can catch up on here. Keeping that in mind i thought why not do a follow up post and share a selection of my favourites on the site right now, some of the items i have already purchased and some i am planning on doing so soon...

1. ASOS DESIGN t-shirt with "yasss" print | buy here |

So first up is a slogan tee that i picked up last month because as soon as i saw it, i just couldn't not put it in my shopping bag. I am super selective when it comes to slogan t-shirts but i love the mix of sass of the phrase and the classic monochrome font/t-shirt, i also love how this t-shirt is shorter in length yet not cropped.

2. ASOS DESIGN petite jumper "mono chevron" pattern | buy here |

If you know anything about me then you will know i am usually a plain/basic design kind of girl, yet recently i am loving wearing a lot more patterned pieces. I fell in love with this mono chevron jumper as soon as i saw it, as i love the way it looked paired with the blue jeans. I also think this jumper could be dressed up for a meal out, maybe with a pair of leather/wax finish black trousers or even skirt and a belt.

3. Bershka cord dungaree dress | buy here |

I have been on the hunt to three different Primark's multiple times looking for the famous black cord dungaree dress that everyone seems to be picking up, yet i simply can't find one. So i decided to look somewhere else for one similar that is still affordable, this has definitely got to be my favourite one. I think a dungaree dress this autumn/winter time will be a great way to layer and it will make a change from jeans.

If you are looking for a good quality pair of over the knee boots this new season, yet you don't want to spend a fortune then ASOS is definitely the place to take a look. They have so many different styles, colours, range of heel size and feel width also. I think these boots would look great paired with the dungaree dress above, or maybe a leather/cord skirt and a cute knit jumper.

Next up is yet another pair of boots but this time in sock/ankle boots form, i also fell straight in love with these as soon as i saw them on the New-In section. I love how these are your classic look black ankle/sock boot but they have silver mirrored metal detailing at the top of the block heel.

Ok, we have the final pair of shoes for this post i promise! This time not a boot but this gorgeous plain black pair of slipper style flats by New Look, which i must say i am loving so many things by them at the moment (including a jumper from ASOS which is sadly no longer available for some reason). I really love the whole loafer/skinny jeans look and i think these are a super simple/classic pair, without too much fuss.

Belts are such a key staple for styling up an outfit at the moment and the high-street have so many great affordable versions, that being said when i saw this 2-pack on ASOS i had to look twice as for both belts it is just £3.99! Another trend i am loving that has made a come back (which i have added quite a few new pieces into my wardrobe recently) is leopard print.

Finally we have a jumper that is still currently available (for some reason they all seem to be flying out of stock, anyone would think the weather is turning cold ha ha). Bershka actually have a huge range of gorgeous knitted jumpers this year, in so many great colours and i am especially loving this pink and red combination.

THE BEST BUDGET AUTUMN CANDLES

Hello everyone! If you have read a lot of my posts previously or know me personally, then you will know that i am such a sucker for a good candle and i love so many different scents for each different season. Now that we are fast headed into autumn/fall, it is all about those cosy/warming scents and you can get your hands on a bunch of autumn appropriate candles without breaking the bank. So for today's post i thought why not share with you all some of the best budget candles, that you can pick up for this autumn...

1. yankee candle warm cashmere | £17.99 |

This candle was a new release last autumn from Yankee Candle and it became one of my favourites instantly, so i am glad that it is back for another year. Yankee Candles are one of the candles worth spending that little bit more on but you still won't break the bank, they burn even and are guaranteed to fill the room with a beautiful scent. Warm cashmere is perfect for a cosy evening in as it has those beautiful calming notes of cashmere woods, sandalwood and golden amber. The fragrance is the perfect balance of warm, sweet and yet still fresh. Warm cashmere is currently the candle of the month, so take advantage of the 25% off.

2. glade nutcracker delight | £4 |

I have never really been a huge fan of the Glade candle scents but i always tend to love the room sprays, that was until i smelt this limited edition Nutcracker candle. This is another one of those cosy scents this time filled with more sweet notes, especially from the maple and praline. This scent could be one of those candles that would be perfect from autumn right until the Christmas period. If fruity fresh scents are more your thing, over anything sweet then this candle also comes in a Sugarplum Fantasies scent which is fruity and floral.

3. yankee candle autumn pearl | from £1.79 |

The good thing about Yankee Candle is you can try out any new scent without having to make the plunge and buy a larger jar, as they come in many different forms from wax melts, to votives and then the small, medium and large jars. Autumn pearl is a new scent this year from Yankee Candle and it is filled with fresh yet sweet notes like vanilla, creamy orchid, plum and spun sugar. 

4. sainsbury's home black amber + patchouli candle | £8.66 |

Sainsbury's is seriously underrated for their homeware, as they always have so stunning pieces that are an amazing quality for a great price. This candle has that really luxurious feel to it from its packaging to its beautiful warming black amber scent, which when lit gives off the most sophisticated almost sexy scent. Sainsbury's currently have a 1/3 off selected items, this candle includes as it was £13 for a large jar and it is now just £8.66.

5. h&m home no4 sandalwood scented candle | £12.99 |

H&M is literally my favourite place to buy homeware and i always have my eye on something new from them, especially when it comes to their candles. As you can probably tell from the theme one of my favourite cosy autumnal scents is sandalwood or amber, as they really give off that warm/cosy vibe to a room. This particular candle is also available in a cinnamon scent and a fig scent, two other scents perfect for the time of year. The packaging on these candles are also super luxurious and are perfect jars for reusing.    

6. yankee candle radiant autumn | £13 |

Finally we have another new scent from Yankee Candle but this time from their Home Inspiration range which you can pick up at pretty much every supermarket, especially Asda and Tesco. The great thing about this range is they have different scents available and are a lot more affordable, as a large jar is just £13 where as a regular original candle from the brand is £23.99. The scent Radiant Autumn is the perfect balance of sweet but also with a hint of fresh/crisp notes, which to me screams autumn as it is all about that balance with the cosy feel of indoors but the crisp cool air of the outdoors.

EVERYDAY WARM AUTUMNAL EYESHADOWS

Hello everyone! So last week i shared my current everyday go-to base makeup and in that post i mentioned how i had been loving wearing a warm matte brown shade, simply buffed out in the crease as well as on the lid. With that in mind for today's post i thought i would share with you some of my current favourite warm autumnal matte brown shades, that i have been reaching for on an everyday basis.

Ever since i first got my hands on this particular palette, i have been completely obsessed with this one particular shade in the palette which is called "deserted". The shade deserted is the most beautiful/perfect warm caramel/beige shade, that looks amazing either just in the crease as a transition shade or for an all over look. This particular palette is amazing for makeup in a rush, as these shadows blend/apply beautifully and effortlessly. This palette is more on the expensive side at £28 for just five shadows, but for this shade worth it.

So i love love love this palette, but i only ever tend to reach for these two particular shades that happen to be perfect for the warm matte brown eye look, that i am loving recently. These two shades are salted caramel and semi-sweet, the first is the most beautiful medium warm caramel/beige matte shade and then following up with semi-sweet which is slightly deeper but still on the warm side. These particular sized eyeshadow palettes by Too Faced retail for £39, but for the quality/amount of shadows and not to mention how amazing the shadows smell, well worth investing in either this one or the sweet peach one.

Next up we have a few of my go-to warm shades from my well loved custom palette, which has eyeshadows from MAC, Freedom, Makeup Geek and Morphe. That being said at the moment these three particular ones are my favourite, the Freedom #ProArtist eyeshadows are such amazing value for money as they only retail for £1-2 (£5 for 5 pack) and they are equally as pigmented/easy to blend as high-end eyeshadows. Makeup Geek eyeshadows are also another great affordable eyeshadow brand, the shade frappe has been a favourite of mine for so long now. All three of these shades are super warm and more on the orange/burnt side of brown, which is what makes them perfect for this time of year.

Finally we have two of my favourite shades from the most talked about eyeshadow palette recently, which has also been branded the perfect autumnal palette by so many people (me included). This palette is great for creating both matte and shimmer eye looks, but the shades sauced and low blow are perfect for creating that effortless warm brown eye look. Just like the Too Faced eyeshadow palettes, the Naked palettes are also more on the expensive side at £39.50 and i would definitely say if you haven't ever tried one of the palettes before, this one is a must-try along side the Naked 2 palette.
