MAKEUP SWITCH UP FOR AUTUMN

Hello everyone! August is officially over, as today is the first day of September and we are about to say goodbye to summer for another year. With that being said autumn is just around the corner which means one thing (besides pumpkin spice latte's and autumn scented candles of course), it is time to switch up our makeup bags/collection and add in a few key transitional items perfect for the autumn/winter months.

First up we have to talk about probably the most perfect/well talked about autumnal appropriate eyeshadow palette i think has ever been made, everything about it screams autumn and every single shade is for me with the super warm toned burnt neutrals. With this palette you can create so many different types of autumnal eye looks, whether that be mixed mattes/shimmers or just mattes alone. My particular favourite shades to wear are sauced, low blow, cayenne and all three of these shades have a matte finish.

It is not very often that i venture outside of a nude lip, as you probably all already know that i am complete nude lipstick queen/hoarder. That being said when i do, i am very picky about what i like and this particular autumn appropriate lip colour is one that i have loved for so long now, it is the most beautiful deep wine (hence the name sangria) almost purple toned lipstick. Even though it is such a deep colour, it is still super wearable, easy to apply, comfortable to wear and not to mention long-wearing.

Sticking with a non-nude lip colour but this time in lip liner form and one of my favourites by MAC, the shade whirl is perfect for deepening up a more brown toned nude lip colour that you could apply on top of this liner, as the shade whirl is almost a dirty deeper rose with hints of an almost brick-ish undertone. This particular lip liner pairs so well with two particular lip colours i am about to talk about next, along side another MAC lip pencil but in the shade oak and that is more of a soft beige toned brown.

Another MAC lip product but this time we have a nude-y nude that is perfect for the autumn/winter months, as it is definitely more on the deep nude side with a beige/brown undertone to it. This particular shade is super similar to another lipstick by MAC that is well loved by me, which is honeylove but i must say yash is definitely a shade or two deeper and therefore is probably more autumn appropriate.

Moving on to the more brown toned nude lip colours i was talking about above, which pair perfectly with the whirl lip liner for that deeper brown yet still nude lip colour. The best thing about these soft matte lip creams by NYX are is not only the amazing range of different shades available but instead how comfortable they are to wear, they literally feel like nothing on the lips but still give you that matte effect. Abu Dhabi and London are super similar in shade, so logically you could just have one or the other in your collection but i still love both.

So these liquid highlighters are not a super recent makeup switch up product, as i actually haven't been able to put them down ever since i go my hands on them a couple of weeks ago. I have three favourites from the shades available and they are champagne, luminous gold and lustre gold. For me when it comes to autumn makeup i am all for the gold toned highlighters, as i feel like they go with every single makeup look and these are perfect for that, they are super natural looking, easy to blend/apply and can be used in so many different ways.

Finally whilst on the subject of highlighters and more specifically gold highlighter, we have the most perfect shade to set that liquid glow in place. These highlighters i have talked about a bunch of times in previous posts, because they are so understated and simply beautiful. They can be used so many different ways, as the formula is a liquid to powder finish and i am so happy that they made this a permanent item and not just limited edition.

LIMITED EDITION PRODUCTS I WISH WERE PERMANENT

Hello everyone! So i know i am not the only person that gets super excited whenever a brand brings out a new limited edition product for a season, whether that be for the holiday or a summer line. The only downside to this is buying the product, falling in love and then scared to use it all up because you know it isn't replaceable. With that in mind for today's post i thought i would share with you all my favourite limited edition products, that i wish would be made a permanent line/product and then i could talk about them more often.

This particular blush from Kiko was part of their limited edition summer collection last year, they even have a 2.0 version this summer in the shade coral bay. I just love every single thing about the brands blushes but this one is a particular favourite, i also love how amazing and chocolate-y it smells.

Sticking with another limited edition Kiko product but this time a highlighter, that i have loved for so long now and i believe it was a part of their travel or everyday essentials collection. This particular highlighter has such a beautiful lightweight texture yet it has a pigmented creamy formula, in a stunning golden pearl shade.

I have mentioned this particular blush in so many posts previously, as it is my favourite blush shade of all time from the brand. MAC are probably the worst culprits for making you fall in love with something from one of their limited edition collections, just like they did oh darling! but thank god they added that to their permanent line after a while. The good thing that doesn't make you too sad that it was limited edition is that you literally only ever need the tiniest amount, as they are super pigmented.

I never really used to like the lipglass formula but i have done a complete 360 and i love it now, i also know this is the case with quite a few people the formula is a love or hate thing. I have a couple of different ones but this one is definitely my favourite, typical seeing as it was from the limited edition Mariah Carey collection. This is just the perfect shade of gloss to not necessarily to add any colour, but to add a sheen to any lip colour applied underneath. Another thing is i also wish all of the packaging from MAC was this sassy and beautiful.

The final and probably my favourite out of all the limited edition MAC products, this pigment from last years holiday collection. If you have read my posts in the past then you will probably already know that i am a huge fan of the pigments, but there is just something about this one that makes it my favourite and yet again typical of me with it being limited edition. Just like the blush though these pigments will last forever.

Moving onto this limited edition eyeshadow palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills and unlike the modern renaissance palette, this particular palette was a limited edition one. I have two particular favourite go-to shadows in this palette (hot & cold and sherbet), which i am so scared to use up because unlike some palettes/shades from ABH you can't get them in their single pan form and that sucks. If they bought the shadows out individually i would buy them just like that, they are literally my perfect shades/tones in an eyeshadow.

Finally if you are from the UK, then you will probably be familiar with the fact that both Boots and Superdrug quite often do limited edition nail polish shades with barryM. This particular duo is from the Boots limited edition collection last summer, which i literally live for both shades as i am such a nude-y/neutral nail girl now. The only up-side to this is the barryM nail polish in the shade peanut butter is quite similar to the shade beachy keen, but there is nothing similar to shade golden sands which kind of sucks.

ZOEVA SWEET GLAMOUR BLUSH PALETTE

Hello everyone! Last week i shared an updated makeup wishlist post, which you can catch up on here and in that post i featured a particular palette that i have been lusting after. Soon after that post i caved and ordered a couple of the products, this blush palette from the new zoeva sweet glamour collection being one of them.

So i have always been a huge fan of zoeva blushes/palettes, in fact all of their products in general and as soon as i laid eyes on this palette i knew it had to be welcomed into the collection. First of all how stunning is the palettes packaging? Second of all the three shades in this palette are right up my street, with the perfect mix of pinks and a highlighter-like shade similar to the shade "glowing still" in the zoeva rose golden blush palette. These particular palettes are also great for travelling, which i happened to mention in my three go-to travel friendly highlight palettes post because of how compact they are in size/depth.

As i mentioned the palette consists of three different shades, two blush colours and a highlighter shade. First up in the palette is the shade sweet escape, which is the most beautiful almost vibrant shade of pink. Followed up by my personal favourite the shade ideal love, which is more of a light dusky pink shade and then finally moving onto the shade interpretation of dreams, which is the highlight shade adding some shimmery glow to the skin. Just like the other zoeva blushes/palettes i have tried, they never fail in the pigmentation/formula area. They have this soft almost light butter (maybe from the vitamin e formula) feel to them, which allows them to glide onto the skin and blend out seamlessly. If you fancy giving this beautiful palette a try just like i did, then you can get your hands on it for a steal at only £13 from cultbeauty or beautybay.

MAKEUP COLLECTION AND STORAGE

The only chore i enjoy doing is organizing and tidying up my makeup collection, so whilst i was doing this i thought i would take some pictures and show you my collection. I have quiet a lot of makeup and in no way am i bragging about the amount i own, also compared to some other peoples collections i think mine is actually quiet small. So here it is...

I store my makeup in one drawer separated into different sections: face products then eyes and lips.

In this stripey box i like to keep all of my base and face products (primers, foundations, powders and concealers) as the box is quiet deep and spacious. I keep my less used products at the bottom and then the products i use more on top for easy access.

In the middle section at the front i keep all of my mascaras, eye liners, some loose pigments, brow products and some random lip liners which i use on a frequent basis.

In the right hand section of my drawer i keep all my lip products, lipsticks to the back and then lip glosses and pencil form lip products. Also to the right i just keep two of my urban decay palettes because they fit just right there. At the back of my makeup drawer i just keep my single pressed eye shadows, loose eye shadows, cream eye shadows and then some of my smaller sized palettes.

I like to store my makeup brushes on top of the set of drawers in this vase which i am obsessed with. I also like to just keep some random products on there also like my makeup remover, hand gel and toner.

I am thinking about doing a beauty product collection post some time soon, which is the drawer above my makeup drawer. I keep all my skincare/body products and also my large makeup palettes.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend...
