SPRING CANDLES FOR 2019

Hello everyone! I don't know about you but i am so over winter now and i am ready for the spring/summer months now, especially as over the last few days we have had some lovely sunshine in the UK. Something we tend to switch up as well as our wardrobe for the new upcoming season is our candle scents, which personally i love spring/summer scents more than winter scents. With that in mind for today's post i thought i would share my favourite scents for spring/summer 2019...

1. next spa retreat candle | click to shop |
First up we have this spa retreat scented candle by Next, which i must say they have so many different scents available at the moment and the majority of them are under £10. I love calming scented candles in the spring/summer, especially if they have those beach-y notes to them in the form cedarwood. I also love all of the packaging of the Next candles, as they are simple yet they all have that luxury look to them.

2. skandinavisk OY scented candle | click to shop |
As well as their own brand candles, Next also stock a wide range of branded candles and this candle really caught my eye. OY is apparently Norwegian for Island, which is a perfect name as the scent of this candle is also giving me those very beach/ocean vibes. I love also how neutral/sleek the packaging of their candles are, even if they aren't the cheapest at £29 but you are getting a 45+ hour burn time sized jar.

3. primark sea salt mist candle | click to shop |
Sticking with the spring beach vibes, this time though a absolute bargain of a candle costing just £2 for a 55 hour burn pillar. Primark stores are always fully stocked with a wide range of scents, pillar candles, jars and tea lights. This particular candle also comes in another spring appropriate peony, perfect for anyone who loves a floral scent.

4. yankee candle seaside woods candle | click to shop |
Of course a candle post wouldn't be complete without something from my favourite candle brand, yes you got it Yankee Candle and they have some great new releases for Spring. Starting things off with this new seaside woods scented candle, which is that perfect spring cosy evening time scent because of its fresh, yet slightly fruity and floral notes.

5. yankee candle market blossoms candle | click to shop |
Another new-in by Yankee Candle is this market blossoms candle, which is in fact only a limited edition item so if you are into those fresh yet still floral and slightly sweet scents then i would pick one of these up sooner rather than later. I love the combination of all the notes in this candle, as it is the best of both worlds.

6. the white company seychelles candle | click to shop |
Finally and probably saving one of my favourite more luxury candle/scents until last and one that i will love the scent of all year round, not just for spring. This particular scent is the perfect mix between fresh and sweet, as it has the freshness from the bergamot and the sweetness comes from the coconut, vanilla and almond. If you are ever looking to splurge of a more high-end candle, i would definitely recommend The White Company or Neom.

BEDSIDE BEAUTY: CURRENT GO-TO PRODUCTS

Hello everyone! So i don't know about you but i always like to keep a selection of beauty products on my bedside table, for two reasons. One you can use these skincare/bodycare products whilst sat or laid in bed watching your favourite tv show or movie and two because they are mainly products that are best applied right before lights-out. Some of these products are always the same and some i like to switch up from time to time, with that in mind i thought for today's post, why not share with you all my current go-to bedside beauty products.

I usually always use the Palmer's Coconut Oil Body Lotion, which i still do from time to time but for the past month or so i have been re-reaching for this Sleepy Body Lotion from Lush instead. Sleepy was originally just part of the Christmas line last year (which is when i first tried it) and obviously since then they have made it permanent. This body lotion is perfect in every single way for bedtime, as it will put you out in a light, help free any built up anxiety with the help of its lavender oil infusion.

I have talked about a selection of products by Deciem (The Ordinary) in quite a few posts this year, as it has been a skincare brand i have been reaching for a lot. This particular product has replaced another product i was using for the same purpose, as i now prefer to just apply a small amount of something more effective to the problem area (aka a blemish). If i don't think a blemish is all that bad or it is almost healed i will sometimes reach for a little amount of ever so trusty Sudocrem.

Again like i said above i sometimes switch between two different products and because i do have more normal/dry skin, i do love nothing better than to basically smother my face in facial oil before bed and then it keeps the dryness at bay. These two particular products are favourites of mine, both are some hydrating, brightening but that being said The Ordinary one is a great multi-purpose products as it can be applied to the ends of the hair also. As well as these facial oils being bedtime favourites, i am also obsessed with they way they prep your skin for makeup in the morning time, either underneath or mixed into your foundation.

Finally we have one of the products that i can never go to bed without applying and that is lip balm, i also never use any other kind now except for the Coconut Lip Butter from The Body Shop. This lip balm is just so effective, as it instantly hydrates your lips keeping them hydrated for longer and chap-free. Also if i am feeling as if my lips are that extra bit dry and in need of some TLC, i will apply a mixture of the Lip Scrub by Lush and this.

FAVOURITE CANDLES: SPRING EDITION

Hello everyone! I am pretty much one of those "typical bloggers" or female in general that has an actual candle obsession, in fact sometimes i think i am too obsessed with candles and i have different favourite scents for each different season. With that in mind for today's post i thought i would share with you some of my favourite spring appropriate scented candles, from older favourites to new-in favourites.

So during the autumn/winter seasons i always opt for the sweet treat-like scents but during spring/summer time, i am all about the fresh/floral scents. This sea air candle from yankee candle is from their new coastal living range, i love how the sandalwood notes give off this really fresh yet still has that "day at the beach" vibe to it.

Another fresh scented candle this time from neom, which is a slightly more expensive but the scent these candles throw off are like nothing else. The essence of lemon and citrus gives the candle its all round clean/freshness, this scent of candle is a perfect one for burning during the evenings as it quite a calming aroma.

I first bought one of the seychelles candles from the white company at the beginning of the year, as i literally fell in love from the first sniff and it has quickly become probably my favourite candle of all time. This particular scent is the perfect mix between fresh and sweet, as it has the freshness from the bergamot and the sweetness from the coconut, vanilla and almond. If you are ever looking to splurge of a more high-end candle, i would definitely go with the white company.

So this particular candle is the newest candle in my collection, as i just picked a large jar up at the weekend whilst i was in the yankee candle store. To me this candle is spring/easter in a jar with its fresh scent of spring air and fresh bouquet of flowers, which has a really relaxing/homely vibe about it.

In a previous post a couple of months back, i mentioned how i loved the heart of gold candle by katie loxton which is more of a winter appropriate candle as it has clove notes to it. Although another more spring appropriate scent is the home sweet home candle, as it has the perfect mix of sweet and fresh, from both vanilla and daisies.

Finally we have yet another yankee candle scent but lets face it, who isn't a sucker for a yankee candle? Peony is one of my personal favourite flowers (along side tulips) especially during the spring/summer months, as they aren't too much of an over powering floral scent unlike fresh cut roses. Peony candle has the perfect mix of both sweet and fresh, which as you can probably tell is my favourite for this time of year.
