MAKEUP/BEAUTY STORAGE ON A BUDGET

Hello everyone! So buying makeup, skincare and beauty products in general can be fun, until you are overloaded with products and are stuck on what, where or how to store them. A lot of storage units can be super expensive but there are also some more affordable alternative ways to store your products, from organisers to drawers and diy storage. With that in mind i thought i would share an updated beauty storage on a budget post...

- makeup/wash bags
If you are only just starting out growing a selection of products, travel a lot or you just like to keep your products down to the bare essentials then a makeup/wash bag is going to be the type of storage for you. You can pick these up from pretty much anywhere and i have bought my fair share over the years, that being said i always gravitate back to something that is transparent or transparent with a design. The reason for that is because they are not only easy to see what product you are looking for, rather than rooting through messing everything up but also because they are easier to keep clean and you can simply just give them a wipe out, from time to time.

-makeup/wash bags under £20
1. skinnydip dazzle washbag (travel must-have) £18 | click to shop |
2. skinnydip sugarpop washbag (don't forget shop sales) £11.20 | click to shop |
3. skinnydip peachy makeup bag (something smaller) £14 | click to shop |
4. primark nude makeup bag (all under £5) £3 | click to shop |
5. primark neon lime washbag (love the neon trend) £4 | click to shop |
6. amazon clear toiletry bag (perfect for travel) from £3.74 | click to shop |
7. amazon clear makeup bag with design (skinnydip dupes) £6.99 | click to shop |
8. monki colour block makeup case (shop asos sale) £9 |click to shop |

- acrylic storage, organisers + diy storage
So if you collection is slightly or significantly larger and requires more than a makeup bag (as mine does), then you can opt for so many different ways to store/organise your makeup. In the past picking up a good set of acrylic drawers or storage box would definitely break the bank, but now you can actually get your hands on some for a lot less. If you already have a drawer/drawers and are just looking for something to divide or categorise your products, then drawer organisers are going to work for you and you can pick them up for a small amount of money or even diy your own at home for even less.

9. osco acrylic chest with 5 drawers and flip lid (amazon) £19.99 | click to shop |
10. osco acrylic chest with 3 drawers and flip lid (amazon) £10 | click to shop |
11. beautify large 5 drawer (i love this brand) £39.99 | click to shop |
12. zoeva classic brush holder (beautybay find) £10.50 | click to shop |
13. ikea divider for pull-out drawer (different sizes) £10 | click to shop |
14. makeup box organiser with display (eBay find) £13.99 | click to shop |
15. beautify acrylic drawers (smaller version) £19.99 | click to shop |
16. toothbrush holders for brushes/lip liners or pencils (h&m) £6 | click to shop |

TRAVEL BEAUTY | TEN PRODUCT WEEKEND MAKEUP BAG

Hello everyone! I know i only shared a "what's in my travel makeup bag" post just last month, but i am going away for the weekend and i didn't want to take too many products with me (literally just the bare essentials). So as i was thinking of what products i could pack, as well as knowing what products would be compact/used for multiple things and i managed to get it down to a ten product makeup bag which for me is quite a challenge, as half of the time i love to over-pack and bring about five too many lip products that i don't end up reaching for...

Seeing as i was only taking a small amount of products and i didn't need a huge wash/makeup bag, i decided to go with one of the smaller sized skinnydip makeup bags and you can get them from the skinnydip site/stores, ASOS, topshop and now beautybay.com too. I personally always use these makeup bags, as they always come in cute patterns yet are still see-through and you can not only see what you are looking for but also you can fit so much inside of them. Another thing i did to cut down on the amount of products i needed to take, by doing my eyebrows the night before using the revolution brow tint in the shade dark brown leaving it on for the full two hours and this way i know my brows are going to be good for the whole weekend.

nuxe huile prodigeiuse (sample/travel size)
So something that i use every single day is this dry oil by Nuxe and i love to apply it right before i do my makeup, so this is an essential for me. The only downside was when i was to travel with it, it is huge as it comes in a 50ml glass bottle and i was always scared it was going to smash. That being said i recently received a bag full of mini Nuxe products, including a mini version of this perfect for taking away with me.

l'oréal infallible pro-glow foundation in the shade 205
My foundation of choice for the weekend is the pro-glow by L'Oréal, not only because it comes in a squeeze-y plastic compact tuble, rather than a glass bottle but also because i know it is going to look good/last all day.

ps my perfect colour concealer in the shade nude beige
This concealer is pretty much my everyday go-to concealer, so i know that it is going look good and last all day long without creasing etc. This concealer is also super slim and compact.

bareMinerals invisible light powder duo
So my powder of choice is probably not the most travel friendly size-wise but by taking other things that are more compact, does make for some room and i know this powder is going to do what i need it to do. As this is a powder duo, it has one side that is a matte powder perfect for the t-zone area to control shine and a glow powder side on the other for other areas of the face.

bareMinerals gold obsession chandelight glow illuminator
This is actually a product that i mentioned in my previous post, which is also a good one for travelling with as it is a cream to powder product and there is no need to pack two individual products.

bronze bronze queen bronzer in the shade sunset
This bronzer has pretty much been my go-to everyday bronzer for both warming up the face and used on my eyes, for a quick bronzed eye look ever since i picked it up last month. Skipping on the hefty eyeshadow palettes and just using bronzer is perfect for travelling, as you are multi using products and cutting down on space.

ps pro hd mascara in the shade black
Another everyday favourite from Primark is this ps pro HD mascara and i have mentioned before how it is a great dupe for my favourite KIKO 30 day lash treatment mascara, yet this one is only £3. I would normally take a sample sized mascara i have from MAC but i seem to have miss-placed them so this one has to be packed.

mac pro longwear waterproof brow set in the shade brown/ebony
Talking of products from MAC, the only thing when doing my makeup to my brows is to brush through them with some brow gel once my makeup is all done. This has become my favourite brow gel i have ever used, it also happens to be super travel friendly sized.

mac lip pencil in the shade stripdown
So for the final two items, they were probably the two hardest items to choose and know what to pack and this is probably why i usually end up packing way too many. That being said when i reached a decision i decided to go with stripdown liner, as it looks good on its own as well as with pretty much any other lip product applied on-top because of its creamy beige/brown colour.

charlotte tilbury hot lips lipstick in the shade KKW
Finally for lipstick i decided to go with a trusty handbag favourite of mine, which happens to be a perfect shade of nude for the time of year. Another reason why i decided to go with this lipstick is because i know it is super pigmented, creamy/hydrating on the lips and of course long-wearing. I also love the way it looks paired with stripdown liner, as it adds a touch of pink to the beige/brown liner creating a beautiful nude.

MY FEBRUARY MUST-BUYS | CLOTHING, ACCESSORIES + BEAUTY

Hello everyone! So last month i shared a different style of post to my blog, sharing my must-buys for the month of January. This post included some of the items i had recently picked up or some of the items that i wanted to pick up during the month. With that in mind and seeing as it is now February i thought i would share this months must-buy items, from clothing to accessories, tech items and of course beauty...

I have seen quite a few different "suedette" style biker jackets including a khaki coloured one which would definitely break the bank, that being said boohoo has a similar style jacket for a lot less and it comes in a few different colours. I love this neutral coloured one, as well as the black one!

There is only one thing better or equally as good as Christmas products from Lush and that is Valentine's day, Prince Charming has been my favourite shower gel for years but i believe they have stopped stocking it now. Even though this has happened there is a bunch of amazing smelling products including one of my favourite bath bombs at the moment!

3. | skinnydip dalmatian card holder | was £8 now £5 |
Ever since getting my new purse, which i shared in last months must-buys i have been struggling for room for all of my cards so i decided i definitely needed to pick a card holder up. I fell in love with how cute/classic this one from Skinnydip was and it is so in-expensive.

I have been lusting after these trainers in this icey pink shade for so long, that it just got ridiculous that i didn't buy myself a pair already. I have recently really got back into wearing trainers more, they are just so comfy and look great with so many different outfits!

5. | h&m beauty warm desert blush | £8.99 |
I have heard so many different things about H&M makeup, that i really want to give some things a try. I love how a lot of the packaging is giving me Tom Ford makeup vibes but for a lot less money, especially this blush shade which really has my attention.

I recently broke my current sunglasses which i loved but i wasn't all that mad, because they weren't every expensive. So i decided to go on the hunt for a new pair and fell in love with this surprisingly cheap for net-a-porter and they are my favourite style and tortoiseshell print.

So i have recently started to read this book which i mentioned in my recent "books i want to read in 2018" post and oh my oh my, i am equally as hooked/obsessed as i was when i read Gabriel's Inferno by the same author. Definitely a must-read book this month!

8. | lancome custom highlight drops | £26 |
I am completely obsessed with liquid highlighters, so naturally when i laid eyes on this new launch from Lancome of course i was going to want to get my hands on some. There is four different shades available but my favourite by far is the shade called golden glow.

9. | prettylittlething black oversized knitted jumper | £25 |
Everyone needs that basis black knit in their wardrobe and mine is in need of being replaced, more specifically with a more thick knit and this one from PLT is perfect for that. I love jumpers from the brand as they are such great quality, wash nice and aren't expensive!

10. | skinnydip pretty cute iPhone phone case | £6 |
I recently picked up a new phone case from my favourite place to get them from and that is of course Skinnydip, because of how many cools prints they have. I actually had my eye on this "pretty fucking cute" one for a while now, so seeing as it was in the sale i couldn't resist!

11. | yankee candle rainbow cookie candle | from £1.71 |
Finally i am completely obsessed with the new scents launched on Yankee Candle, especially this rainbow cookie scent. This scent is two of the types of scents i love together both sweet and fresh, as it is infused with soft vanilla, citrus and peach. The packaging colour/design also!

BACK TO SCHOOL/UNI BEAUTY EMERGENCY KIT ESSENTIALS

Hello everyone! In a week or so the majority will be heading back to school, uni or work in the UK from summer (if you haven't started back already). Last year i shared with you all a super quick and easy back to school drugstore makeup look, so this year i wanted to switch things up and do something a little different. Being female can be a struggle at times, as we tend to need a few beauty products in an emergency situation. The best way to be prepared for any situation is to carry around a small "bag of tricks" filled with the emergency essentials that you might need during the school/uni/work day, so i thought why not share with you/those who might be wondering how to put a "bag of tricks" together and what to products to include.

skinnydip coco makeup bag
I have mentioned these particular makeup bags from Skinnydip so many times and they are the ones i always opt for, whether that be for travel makeup or a beauty essentials kit as you can fit so many things into that one place and it is a super compact bag. Also i love how these bags are a mixture of cool prints but also slightly transparent, so you can still see what is where in the bag.

mini/travel sized deodorant
Carrying mini sized deodorants/sprays can come in handy for those moments when you need them, whether that be to refresh after sports/gym etc or even some hairspray/dry-shampoo to refresh your hair. You can pick mini/travel sized items up for very little money and more often than not, you can get them either 3 for 2 or 3 for £3 at most drugstores/supermarkets.

pocketbac/anti-bacterial hand gel
If you are anything like me and a complete germaphobe, then this item will be on you at all times as you never know when you might need some. If you hate the boring clinical smelling ones, you can pick up so many different scented ones from bath & body works, merci handy and also the body shop for very little money and they will last you quite a while as you only need a tiny amount.

tampons/slim panty-liners
Quite a straight forward no-brainer thing to have in an emergency and something i always carry around with me in my bag, as you just never know when that situation could occur for either yourself or a friend and just throwing a couple of spares inside an emergency kit could make all the difference.

multi-pack hair ties/hair grips
Carrying around hair ties and hair grips always comes in handy because you just never know, you could get caught in the rain/wind or be having a bad hair day and that can be fixed by tying it up or pinning it into place.

compact mirror/retractable makeup brush/compact tangle teezer
Of course if you are going to want to fix your hair, you will probably need a hair brush and these compact tangle teezers are super handy as they are not only small but also have a lid to protect the bristles from becoming damaged or getting hair etc on anything else in your bag. Also i find carrying a pocket mirror and a travel friendly makeup brush come in handy for those touch-up moments, unless you prefer to stick to the trusty front camera on your phone (we all do it right?)

concealer/pressed powder/lip balm
Sticking with the makeup touch up theme and another set of products that come in handy through-out the day, whether you sweat your makeup off, have to control shine or simply need a refresh these three items are a must. If you are at school you might not be allowed to wear makeup or not a lot, but keeping it a minimum with concealer, powder and lip balm might be for you.

pain relief tablets/anti-blister stick/mints
These three items are also those "you never know when you might be in need of" things, whether you or a friend gets a headache or a rubbing shoe issue or you both decided to opt for a garlic-y option for lunch ha ha! Also these anti-blister sticks are so handy as you simply rub it on the area before putting your shoes on, or when you feel like it is going to rub and you are set, no ugly looking plasters or blister bandages.

mini makeup removing wipes/pocket tissues
Carrying makeup wipes come in handy for if you are needing to do makeup touch ups, have something sticky on your hands etc and picking these mini packs of wipes up are so handy, rather than lugging around your typical 25 pack of wipes and the same with the tissues these pocket sized come in handy. Very often they come in multi packs so you can just pop one back in its place inside your emergency kit when you have ran out.

WHAT'S IN MY TRAVEL MAKEUP BAG

Hello everyone! In a recent post all about the tropical trend for summer, i mentioned not only how much i love love love skinnydip makeup/wash bags but also if you wanted to see an updated "what's in my travel makeup bag" post. So seeing as recently i was packing up my makeup for travel, i thought why not share with you what is in my makeup bag this time around. If you didn't catch my previous one, then you can catch up on that here.

So this is the makeup bag i am currently using and it is the peachy washbag by skinnydip, i have mentioned so many times before how much i love these bags simply because of their cool prints and most importantly because of how much you can fit into them. As you can see i have managed to fit a ton of stuff into it, including the two new palettes by zoeva. When it comes down to packing a travel makeup bag, i like to pack what i know works for me, as well as what i can do multiple looks with and also a couple of different lip options. All links for the products inside of my makeup bag will be linked below, if you want to know where i got them from.

TROPICAL TREND FOR SUMMER

Hello everyone! Now that we are well into spring and summer is just around the corner, i have found myself literally living for the whole "tropical" theme/vibe and i have noticed there are so many amazing pieces available at the moment. With that in mind for today's post, i thought why not share with you some of my favourite tropical themed finds from homeware, beauty and even phone cases.

1. skinny dip antigua makeup bag (£14)
If you have read quite a few of my posts, then you will probably already know that i am obsessed with skinnydip makeup bags and they are pretty much the only brand of makeup bag that i buy. I love how much you can fit in them, they come in cool prints just like this tropical print one and you can still see what product you are reaching for. I am going away soon so if you want to see an updated "what's in my travel makeup bag" post just like this one here, let me know on twitter.

2. bath and body works summer pocket bac hand sanitizer (£3.25)
I didn't know until recently you can actually pick up bath and body works famous pocket bac's up from eBay super easily, they have so many different scents, including their summer range. This particular scent is vanilla and warm amber, which combined is just as delicious smelling as a typical summer coconut scent.

3. ogx coconut water weightless hydration (£6.99 each)
Whilst on the subject of coconut, i actually recently started using this shampoo from ogx and i am really enjoying the way it smells/leaves my hair feeling. This particular formula of shampoo is designed to add a ton of moisture to your hair without weighing it down/leave it feeling heavy.

4. skinny dip flamingo print tangle teezer (£13.50)
On any normal day i will reach for a tangle teezer, as it is such a hair savoir for my long locks and i usually just use the regular plain pink one. That being said skinnydip have teamed up with tangle teezer with this super cool summery flamingo print brush, which would look amazing as part of your summer holiday wash-bag.

 5. skinnydip smoothie iphone case (£14)
Yet another skinnydip product and a brand i always go to for phone cases, as well as makeup bags because they also are always bringing out super cool designs. On their website at the moment, they have so many cool tropical/summery phone cases but this fruity smoothie case is probably my favourite, just as the peachy phone case/makeup bag is.

6. h&m mint green weave cushion cover (£8.99)
Moving on to more homeware style pieces, even more so this cushion cover by h&m (one of my favourite homeware places at the moment). If something was going to scream tropical trend to me, then this definitely would be it and it would look great paired with another block colour cushion or simply alone.

7. new look gold pineapple leaf plant (£5.99)
As well as the typical palm leaf print, anything pineapple themed always seems just as tropical and this artificial pineapple leaf plant with gold detailed vase is perfect to add just a touch of tropical vibes, in case you just wanted to add a little something without going too over the top.

8. village candle large frozen margarita jar (£14.95)
As some of you might know already that i am obsessed with candles and more specifically yankee candles, so of course i had to throw a candle into the mix. I am yet to try a candle from village candle, but i have heard some really great things about them and this frozen margarita scent really caught my eye, as what could be more summery than sipping a frozen margarita on a beach somewhere?

9. oliver bonas palm tree bottle opener (£14)
Another great homeware item to add just a touch of tropical vibes, in the form of a pineapple tree shaped bottle opener. This would look great on display at a summer bbq, party or get together, as well as being handy to open drinks with of course.

10. h&m palm leaf printed porcelain mug (£3.99)
Another h&m homeware item and one that comes in more than just mug form, as i actually already own the bowls and plates. I love the subtle gold leaf detailing on the tableware, as it is cool yet still quite classic looking. There particular mugs really remind me of the kind you get coffee in at a fancy restaurant or french café.

Finally we have a more stationary/office homeware style piece, in the form of a agenda/diary book with this cool tropical palm print design. I love every single thing from the asos x ohh deer collection, as it is a stationary addicts dream and i also shared a similar notebook in a recent office/stationary decor finds post.
