VALENTINE'S DAY BEAUTY WISH/GIFT LIST

Hello everyone and welcome back to another Valentine's themed post! Valentine's Day is just three days away now, yet there is still time to pick up or make something your bestie, friends or significant other. With that in mind for today's post i thought i would share my beauty wish list/guide guide, which will make pretty much any beauty lovers Valentine's this year (me included ha ha)...

1. charlotte tilbury matte revolution lipsticks | click to shop |
First up is probably one of the best beauty items to pick up for someone this Valentine's Day, especially when it comes to picking something a little more luxurious. I love, love, love everything about these lipsticks from the formula to the packaging and the great shade range. If you know whoever you are buying for is a nude lover, then i highly recommend my ultimate favourite K.KW or Pillow Talk.

2. essie valentine's day collection nail colours | click to shop |
Next up can we appreciate how stunning and cute this packaging is on the limited edition Valentine's collection is, as well as making the perfect gift for a friend or yourself for a pamper night. Essie nail polishes are by far one of my favourites and this collection as do all of the others, tick all of the right boxes. The collection ranges in colours and finishes, from a light pastel pink to a sparkly red and even cute pinks with speckles through-out the polish.

3. boy smells valentine's kush candle | click to shop |
At the end of the day if in doubt buy a candle right? Because who doesn't love candles, i know i do and i always love receiving them. There is a bunch of different Valentine's themed candles available in-stores and online, it all just comes down to personal preference and of course budget. Selfridges and John Lewis are definitely the places worth checking out for some more luxury scents, but if you are on a budget i highly recommend H&M.

4. bareMinerals moxie plumping lip gloss | click to shop |
Next is another lip option you could opt for, especially if you know who you are buying for either prefers gloss over matte, or you just know they like a good lip product in general. For me another perfect option for a more high-end lip product is definitely by bareMinerals, these moxie plumping lip glosses are a makeup collection staple as they are so easy to wear, long wearing and leave your lips feeling amazing.

5. lush peachy bath bomb | click to shop |
If you know whoever you are buying for is a huge fan of pampering themselves or you simply know they love Lush products, then i would definitely recommend having a look at their new Valentine's collection for this year, i am obsessing over the Peachy bath bomb and it is definitely my favourite along side Aubergine bath bomb as i feel like they are such a great Valentine's pun/how they remind me of the Emoji's we all use daily!

6. viktor & rolf flowerbomb | click to shop |
Finally a gift idea that you can't really go wrong with, especially if you know what the person you are buying for's favourite scent it, but just in case you didn't know then there are so many "Valentine's" appropriate scents including one of my favourite perfumes flowerbomb. Debenhams currently have discounts on a bunch of their different scents, including gift sets. So if you want to still splash the cash yet save some at the same time, i definitely recommend having a browse.

Catch up on my previous Valentine's post: here

BLOGMAS DAY THIRTEEN: HOMEMADE NUTTY CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES

Hey guys, i hope you are all having an amazing day whatever you are up to and welcome to day thirteen of blogmas! A great way of giving a gift to someone at Christmas is to give them something homemade which can not only cost left but be a more thoughtful gift and who doesn't love chocolate? I have a great yet simple recipe to create homemade truffles, which would be perfect gift wrapped as a small present for someone. If you want to find out how to make these nutty chocolate truffles then please keep reading...

To make the truffles you will need:

120ml double cream
200g chocolate
(whatever your preference is either milk or dark)
200g chocolate for the chocolate covering broken up
1 tbsp of butter
5-6 tbsp crunchy peanut butter

Method:

Put the cream in a small pan and heat it until it is almost at a boil, then switch off the heat and add the chocolate and butter. Take the pan off the heat and leave it to stand for around 6-8 mins without stirring it. After the time is up begin to stir the ingredients until it is all combined, the mixture will be shiny and smooth. Pour the mixture into a bowl and then gently stir in the peanut butter, leave the mixture to cool down a little and then place it in the fridge for a few hours (over night is even better).

Take the firm mixture out of the fridge and line a large tray with grease-proof paper. Using a melon baller or your clean hands take 1 tbsp or 2 tsp's of the chocolate and quickly roll into a ball and place on the tray and then repeat with all the chocolate and then they are good to eat. You can add a finishing touch to the chocolates by dipping them into more chocolate.

Melt the remanding 200g of chocolate either for 20 seconds in the microwave in sections stirring in between or melt in a bowl over a pan of boiled water. All that is left to do then is dip the chocolates into the melted chocolate and then place back on the tray. To add a finishing decorative touch you can sprinkle some ground almonds or flaked almonds on top. If you are placing the chocolates in a gift wrapped package or box make sure the chocolate is completely set before you do so.

I hope you have found this homemade gift idea useful in some way and even if you don't want them for a gift, make them away as they are so good!

I have been researching a bunch of different great gift ideas and deals available for the big day, so if you are stuck for ideas then please keep reading...

Gift vouchers are always a good buy as if you are unsure if someone already has something then you can give them a voucher to get whatever they want and has required more thought than just handing money over.

BBQ tools £40 - John Lewis.
Dad's are always the ones in charge at friends and families party/bbqs so this tool gift set would be perfect, it comes with 4 tools and a canvas cover with handles.

Aftershave Boss by Hugo Boss £36.50 - Boots.
Boots have great deals on for men's aftershaves with a variety on offer up to half price and also free next day delivery for online purchases. The half price deal is also available in Boots stores.

Gillette grooming gift set £13.33 - Boots.
Boots always seems to be the best place to be when it comes to gift sets for deals.
This particular gift set was £20 but is now a lower offer price which contains...

3x Manual blades
1x Hydrating shaving gel

Top Dad father's day collection £19.99 - Thorntons.

4 (selected) Real ales for £6 - Tesco.
For those beer loving dad's this would be a great gift and especially for under £10. Tesco's currently have a 4 for £6 offer on selected real ales which are £1.97 each.

MOTHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS

So with Mother's Day (UK) being just a little over a week away, that means there is still a time to get a special gift for all the lovely Mummy's out there. You don't have to spend heaps of money on an expensive gift to show someone how much you love them. Here is a few gift ideas you could surprise your Mum with this coming Mother's Day and still leave your bank balance undamaged...

I know i talk about The Body Shop all the time but they have some really amazing Gift Sets available in-store and they are only £15. This is such a great deal for full size products (body butter, shower gel and body spray), if you purchased the body butter on its own that would be £13 so for £2 extra you are getting two other items to make the perfect gift set.

At the moment The Body Shop have a great deal on their shower gels. This could make a perfect gift for your mum, they come in a wide range of different scents.

1 shower gel for £4.
2 shower gel for £6.
3 shower gel for £8.
4 shower gel for £10.

If you are unsure what to buy your mum on a tight budget but still want to get your mum a little something just to show her that you appreciate her, there is so many great gifts for £5 and under.

I saw this super cute floral mum cup whilst shopping, perfect for them special mums who love their cups of tea and coffee. Mum Cup - £2 Tesco.

What mum or person for that matter doesn't love being showered with chocolates. This doesn't mean you have to go out and spend £40 on an expensive box of chocolates, you can get great quality chocolates for much cheaper. Lindt Lindor Chocolates - £3.50 Tesco (Available in a variety of places).

I also had a look online at several other gift ideas you could get for this Mother's Day.

Already bought your mum a gift? I would love to know what you have bought.
Have an amazing weekend...
